I bought a Kenwood stereo with Sirius satellite from Hotwired. The man who installed it did a second rate job. I can not recommend their installation service...
I picked up my truck the other day because it was "ready"; the installer neglected to install the external microphone which is used for the hands free telephone. He then installed the microphone and the phone still didn't work. They took the truck back into the stall and the guy said he plugged the mic into the wrong jack.
I had to make another appointment to install the satellite receiver because it wasn't in stock(that is no big deal).
Picked my truck up this morning and on the drive home I discovered my ash tray would only close half way. The guy that did the installation tried to tell me that the ash tray slid into its own compartment and nothing could block it. I told him it worked fine before his install. He partially pulled my dash off and looked and said nothing was blocking it. He pushed the dash back into place. I insisted that something he did was blocking the tray. He pulled the whole dash off (mind you now, he's not being gentle. These dashes snap together and are easily susceptible to damage) poked his fingers inside and moved a plug from the stereo out of the way. The ash tray now closes like it is supposed to, at least until the first rough road when the plug falls back to where it was.
This installer also pulled the weather stripping off my door to run the satellite antenna. Now the weather stripping is hanging off because he did not put it back properly. The manager /owner was not there for me to talk to this morning so I asked the office manager to have him call me. It's now 5pm and I haven't hear a word from them.
So much for...
Read morePaid 2300$ for my system. Should have went somewhere else. They installed my equipment and it sounded good.. Then the amp which was a 2000 watt amp burned up. Completely quit. They didn't have another one so they put a 1500watt amp. Said I was getting a better amp. I call bullshit. They charged me the same price. Now the memphis speakers in my door and back dash sound muffled. I have taken it back and they adjusted it. But 4of my speakers still don't work. Once they said it was my phone. Got a new phone. Still doesn't sound good. I have to put a sound booster on it for it to play decently loud. I did say something to one of you. When I took it to get it adjusted. I said something about it wasn't as loud and you said how loud do you want it. I say 2300$ loud. I also said something about not being able to hear the back memphis speakers. I should have to use a booster on my phone to make it thump. It use to thump even with the amp it has. When I brought it to you the other day It had only been unhooked from the battery and I put the inline fuse up so it wouldn't get lost while they were working on my car. I would have said something but I was almost home before I got to play it. I had company in my car and couldn't play it. I've had several people tell me it doesn't sound like it did before we unhooked them from...
Read moreLast December I had new speakers installed in my car. I didn't even get home from the installation, when I had to turn right back around and go back due to a bad speaker connection. I have had to take my car back so many times, I cannot count, due to poor installation. I just recently had to take it back to have the rear speakers re-tightened. And I still have a rattle from the back. It may be because the rear shelf panel has been taken in and out so many times, or the screw holes are stripped out. I would put the factory speakers back in, except for the fact that they cut the factory plugs off of the wires. If I could turn back time, I would have called Crutchfield and did it myself. Beware, and do...
