81 Speedway — Local services in Park City

Very disappointed in the conduct that occurred here. As this is a facility that serves alcohol, certainly they should be familiar with how to appropriately deal with certain situations that may arise. My good friend was leaving the facility with a mug that they sell to specifically drink beer out of (and is yours to keep at the end of the evening.) My friend had drank enough to feel the effects of alcohol, however was not by any means incoherent. He started walking out of the facility and was immediately attacked by several men whom he had no chance to defend himself against. The men (rather they were employees or not, remain unknown. This is how disorganized this encounter was.) began to attempt to beat and kick my friend while he was clearly not a threat to them, as he was laying on the ground trying to lessen the blows From punches and kicks with his hands and arms. As I witnessed this event, (and certainly responded by saying some not-so-kind words to them as they were, after all, trying to kick my fiends face in, I attempted to intervene. My intervention was somewhat successful and my friend was unscathed (except a few lacerations on his left elbow.) I was then completely blindsided by an older gentleman with a rather unkept beard who was essentially attacking me, pushing me backward over and over while screaming at me. I identified this man to MULTIPLE people that knew who he was, however he was allowed back in the facility with seemingly no concern that he just basically attacked a rather small female that was simply coming to the aid of a man where the clear goal was to kick and punch him repeatedly. I’ll remind you, all for having a small amount of beer left in his glass when he tried to leave the premises. I’m still unsure how the older gentleman with the beard became involved in the first place, as I’ve been told he doesn’t work there, so there is some confusion. I pointed this man out to multiple employees as they had asked me to after I informed them of what happened. Nothing seemed to be done about it. The cops became involved and they somehow could not get the man to come back out so I could identify him, and press charges as I told them I wished to do so. I even called later and expressed my concern that there is nothing they can do, because this man didn’t work there. But I suppose my biggest and most important question is, if he was just some random guy that got involved, and 81 Speedway doesn’t know him, why would he had so aggressively jumped into an altercation that clearly has nothing to do with him? All in all we’ve typically enjoyed them in the past, I think the entertainment is different and fun. Please just be aware that some extremely concerning occurrences have happened here, and we certainly wouldn’t have thought something like this should have been able...

A great time. They had gotten the ticket price down to very reasonable a few years ago. I haven't checked this year, but last time I went it was about twice what I thought should be fair. I think they might have doubled the ticket price for a special show. For your regular Saturday shows 8 to 10 bucks a head is fair and will do a much better job keeping the stands full. Concession Stands are excellent and priced great. As for the track itself.... It's a great 3/8th mile oval that provides for some great racing. Gets kind of rough through 3 and 4. And sometimes gets a heck of a pothole going into 1. But I think that happens pretty much everywhere. I feel like the owner is most concerned about providing a great place to race. And less concerned about making a fortune off the track and it's customers. And that typically makes for a great race track for drivers and...

Really love bringing my kids here. I am here now (June 17th) and was having a good time until the announcer spoke about if we have been drinking to get a designated driver. I am all for that but following that he said "so local law enforcement doesn't ruin your weekend" and then something else along the lines of like they want to do. I am not a cop but pretty sure they would rather not deal with drunk driving citizens and are not out to get you. I can't support organizations that don't support law enforcement. Sad too, the kids dig the track.

Update Due to the response of management about the traveling announcer I have changed my review from 2 stars to 4. I just hope when you use traveling or outside folks they are held to account for projecting views that don't fit your own. We will come back with the kids and continue to support local racing...
