Whitewater Rafting in Utah with the Family: An Unforgettable Adventure! Our recent whitewater rafting trip in Utah with our family of four, including two adventurous 11-year-olds, was nothing short of spectacular! This was a perfect balance of adrenaline-pumping fun and family-friendly safety, and we owe much of the experience to our amazing guide, Chili Jack. From the moment we stepped onto the raft, Chili Jack’s warm personality and infectious enthusiasm set the tone for the day. He not only made us feel completely safe on the river but also kept the energy high with his humor, storytelling, and endless knowledge about the area. His ability to engage both adults and kids was incredible—our 11-year-olds were captivated by his stories and loved his playful banter. The rafting itself was thrilling! The rapids were just the right level of challenge for a family with kids. It was exciting enough to keep everyone engaged without feeling overwhelming. Chili Jack was a pro at reading the river, expertly navigating the twists and turns while ensuring we were always prepared for the next wave. He even taught us some paddling techniques, which made us feel like part of the team. We laughed, got soaked, and cheered as we splashed through the rapids. The calm stretches of the river were equally enjoyable. It gave us a chance to take in the stunning Utah scenery—towering red rock canyons, crystal-clear water, and the occasional wildlife sighting. During these moments, Chili Jack shared fascinating tidbits about the local history, geology, and ecology, making the trip not just fun but also educational. One highlight was when we stopped along the riverbank for a quick break. Chili Jack brought out some snacks and entertained us with his witty stories and river guide antics, which our kids are still talking about days later! What stood out most to us was the perfect balance of safety and adventure. As parents, we felt completely at ease knowing that our guide was highly skilled and prioritized safety at all times. The kids, on the other hand, felt like they were on the most exciting adventure of their lives. It was the best of both worlds. In summary, this was a family experience we’ll treasure forever. If you’re considering whitewater rafting in Utah, we highly recommend it—especially if you can request Chili Jack as your guide. His charisma, expertise, and ability to make every moment fun and memorable turned an already great trip into an unforgettable one. This is the kind of adventure that brings families closer together, and we can’t wait to...
Read moreMy friend and I went on the night time star gazing tour with Devin Peterson & UOA. What an amazing, fun time we had. We had never snowshoed before but with the equipment UOA lent us, we caught on right away. And my friend had only shoes with her, but it was no problem because UOA had gaitors for her to wear over her shoes to keep her feet warm and dry.
Devin picked us up and dropped us off back at our hotel which was great service. And before booking we had a lot of questions we texted to Devin. He always replied quickly and courteously.
The first part of the trip was uphill, but not too bad. It was great exercise. Devin went at our pace. And we were rewarded with really gorgeous views when we got to the top. We were lucky it was a warm, clear night. We saw so many stars. Devin is an awesome guide. He is friendly and smart and has so much knowledge about so many different things. He pointed out constellations, oriented us to where we were, answered all our random questions and provided a bunch of fun facts and information about the area. He took lots of photos and videos for us. It was really magical walking through the still and peaceful woods.
The snowshoe tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Park City. We highly recommend Utah Outdoor Adventures and guide extraordinaire...
Read moreWe went on a guided rafting tour that included my wife, two children (9 and 12), and myself. I knew this would be a class 2 "rapid" which means pretty low on the excitement side, but I was hoping to give my family a positive introduction to rafting and hopefully see some nice scenery. The experience did all that and went far beyond my expectations! First, each family was assigned to its own raft. This was great because our terrific guide, Blake, was able to tailor the experience to us as individuals. For starters, he ensured that everyone could get the hang of paddling. Once Blake realized our interest in nature and history, he was able to point out/share interesting details about how geography was formed, how settlers moved through the area, and pointed out animals and signs of animal activity. The rafting itself was super fun. Even though the river was quite mild, Blake made it fun for us when he saw how the kids (inspired by the olympics) wanted to paddle fast and pass other boats. Finally, the scenery around the river itself had incredible variety. From farmlands to going under bridges, passing gorgeous mountains, cliffs, and natural features such as "Devil's Slide", this really had it all. Blake even provided...
