The event space itself is beautiful and well-maintained, and I want to begin by acknowledging that. However, our concern lies with the handling of customer service and business practices.
The gentleman who greeted me at the venue was kind and personable. He explained that we needed to sweep and dispose of all trash in the blue bin only. I made sure to clearly communicate this to everyone at our event, and we were very intentional about following those instructions.
Before leaving, I sent a video of the clean venue and the doors being locked. He acknowledged the message with a thumbs up, which I took as confirmation that everything was in good order.
Shortly after, I received a call from the owner stating that there was a stain on the kitchen windowsill, trash in the bins on the side of the building, and a small amount of litter in the parking lot.
I explained respectfully that we did not use the exterior bins and, in fact, were never shown them before the event. It felt unfair to be held responsible for trash that could have been there beforehand. The kitchen windowsill had a small drip from an aluminum pan—something that could have been easily wiped clean.
As a fellow business owner, I offered to return and personally take care of these minor items, but the response I received was dismissive. I was told, “I’m not going to wait—I didn’t want to come back here to wipe the kitchen sill tomorrow and now I have to.” It was surprising, especially since the contract includes a $22 cleaning fee and we weren’t even given the option to mop due to them not having the supply’s for us to do so. After addressing these concerns the owners stated they hired someone to clean the facility. As you can see in the photos below on the inside it was spotless minus the spill from the aluminum pan in which I offered to come back and clean for them.
I attached pictures the owner sent to me of the minimum trash in which they supposedly hired a crew to clean up as well :-/
Ultimately, $75 was withheld from our deposit for what I believe were preventable and minor issues—trash that may not have been ours, a small spill, and minimal litter. We left the space cleaner than we received it: folding chairs, rearranging tables, and going above and beyond to respect the venue.
My takeaway for future renters: • Avoid using payment methods like Zelle or Cash App that don’t offer dispute protection. • Ensure the trash bins are inspected with a staff member at the start of your rental. • Document everything thoroughly before and after your event.
Writing reviews like this is difficult for me—especially when it comes to small Black-owned businesses that I want to see thrive. I share this not out of malice, but in hopes that it leads to better practices and clearer communication...
Read moreI have always been a strong advocate for supporting Black-owned businesses in Columbus, as their presence is unfortunately sparse. However, my recent experience with Luxe Event Center was deeply disappointing and has left me with little to no good things to say about this establishment.
From the start of the event, to the end, the customer service and hospitality at Luxe Event Center were subpar. I understand that contractual mishaps can happen, but the complete lack of respect and humanity shown by the staff and management was unacceptable. During our event, my friend, who is a first time expecting Black mother, was treated in a shockingly disrespectful manner. Any reasonable person would know that yelling at a pregnant woman on what is supposed to be one of the most special days of her life is entirely inappropriate.
The owner's aggressive manner both through text and phone calls was particularly distressing. Their untimeliness and lack of accountability were evident when things were not set up, such as the microphone and other necessary arrangements, even as the event was starting. The birth of a newborn baby is one of the most important days in people's lives, and the lack of care and professionalism towards this special occasion was shocking and disheartening.
Regardless of any perceived contractual disagreements, there should always be a level of clear, concise, and respectful communication. Unfortunately, I did not witness this at Luxe Event Center. The staff's unprofessionalism and blatant disrespect were not only disappointing but also hurtful.
I am writing this review not out of malice, but out of a need for accountability. Black-owned businesses are vital to our community, and it is crucial that they operate with integrity and respect for their customers. Sadly, Luxe Event Center failed in this regard, and I hope they take this feedback to heart and make the necessary...

I had a deeply troubling experience with this business that I feel compelled to share. The owner exhibited a shocking level of unprofessionalism and rudeness, particularly in their communication with a pregnant woman.
During my visit, I witnessed the owner engage in a highly disrespectful exchange via text message. The messages were not only harsh but also lacked any semblance of empathy or understanding. It’s alarming to see someone in a position of authority treat customers, especially pregnant women, with such disregard.
The behavior displayed was not just a minor lapse in professionalism; it was a glaring example of how not to conduct business. Respect and courtesy should be fundamental aspects of any customer interaction, and this business failed miserably in that regard.
If you value respectful and considerate treatment, I strongly advise steering clear of this establishment. The owner’s inability to communicate effectively and respectfully is a...
