On Sunday, my husband and I brought my mother in for a Sunday lunch. There was a large table with a family and kids. We were seated close to them, which we had no problem with until a maybe 5 or 6 year old boy was making these loud sounds. We waited to talk as we listened to the child make very loud ambulance sounds, helicopter sounds, and all at the top of his lungs. When we realized the adults at the table were encouraging his play, I said in a loud voice that I am trying to talk! I was trying to have an important conversation with my mother. I did apologize for speaking out that way but I was extremely frustrated and it just came out. Then came the attack. The family made rude comments, even with the matriarch of the family threatening to beat me up and meet her outside. Then comes the waitress. Wow. This was her family and kids. She basically said they care about the kids and tried to turn it around on me by saying I was picking on a different autistic child. The waitress then proceeded to go from table to table explaining to everyone about what was happening. This situation became outrageous and as a regular patron, I am MORTIFIED that after I spoke up just to get the attention of the adults at the table, I was labeled a child hater, threatened by the grandmother to meet her outside. The waitress has been my waitress for over 4 years. I have always been respectful and kind, and always felt she was a good waitress. Now, after the verbal attacks, I find out she is the owner of the establishment. I wanted to talk to my mother about something important that day. She could not hear a word I said. I do feel bad and did apologize for saying " I want to talk!" But to be threatened by the family and to have the owner/ waitress going from table to table to make me look like a mockery, did not accomplish anything except to make me never want to step foot in there again. I do love kids, but when adults allow the yelling and screaming and call it playing, that is where a line needs to be drawn. Here's my reply to your incorrect information. I did not ever use the word shut up to any.One not even to whomever was speaking to me with threats. That she was going to hurt me when I was outside in the parking lot. I did apologize for yelling out. We are trying to talk. I said nothing more. I'm sorry that the little boy your son Was upset that was not my intention. My intention was trying to get the attention of the adults so they could do what most people would do when it comes to their children being extremely loud in a public.Especially a restaurant place. As I said earlier, I had much respect for you. I hope the next situation that happens again that you will handle it in a manner that is appropriate in business and for your clients.Customers people that pay you to be there. I had no issue with the young boy.It was just he was yelling. Not just making some sounds so please do not put in correct information out there. Once again, your son did not ruin our breakfast. Yes, was he overly loud, we were sitting beside the table so it would not have bothered tables that weren't 3ft away. I'm not saying I handled my self when I loudly made the statement the we would like to be able to talk. I'm not proud. But do not blame me for your son putting his hat over his head..between the lady who made threats at me and you yelling at me I would hide as well. Look at your actions as well as your mom's, aunt whom...
Read moreMy overall experience was pretty good. The service was great. And though it was a Friday evening and extremely busy, the wait wasn't long to be seated. I ordered an omelet platter (omelet, potatoes and biscuits) and a small stack of pancakes. The platter was excellent. The eggs were fluffy, potatoes cooked perfectly and the biscuits had a pleasant buttery taste. However, I was pretty surprised with the pancakes. My order of pancakes were pretty dense and they weren't really flavorful. I used syrup but it didn't save them. They weren't horrible. But for a place that is supposed to be known for great pancakes, these didn't come close to meeting my...
Read moreAside from the ant in the hot chocolate (twice), it was excellent. The pancakes were thick. The waffles smelled delicious. The omlette was extremely fluffy. The BLT was perfect. The fruits and veggies were very fresh. The onion rings were freshly battered and cooked perfectly. The ranch I ordered to dip them tasted homemade and was delicious. Generous portions.
I loved the decor! The signs were funny and the pieces were charming. It is very clean. Lots of booths and tables and even some counter seating. Our server was excellent!! Other servers greeted us or acknowledged us with smiles.
Keep up the...
