On The Hook Fish And Chips is a mobile food truck service. They serve several states, including Iowa. They serve line-caught, wild Alaskan Cod and Beer Battered Fries. This is a specialty fish and chips food truck. Everything is deep fried. They do not use peanut oil, so people with peanut allergies can eat at their trucks (please verify that for yourself). They offer two items: battered deep fried cod and beer battered fries (chips). They offer 4 options: Fish & Chips ($15), Just Fish ($13), Just Fies ($6) and Extra Fish (as add on only, $4).This simple menu allows them to concentrate on offering the best fish & chips money can buy. Believe me, they have accomplished their goal of offering the best! You can find them on the web (internet). Do your search, go to the site, and you can find a schedule of when and where they will be. They were in the Earl May parking lot this time. I got the Fish & Chips and it was delicious. Went up to the window place my order and they said it would be about five minutes. About 5 minutes later, it was served up piping hot. One thing to keep in mind, you must pay with a credit or debit card. They will not accept cash. For the safety of their employees, they have no cash on their trucks. Check out their website, and the next time they come to town, treat yourself to a delicious lunch or dinner.

First time trying this food truck. This was an impulse buy as I was driving back to work at the Smith's parking lot in Murray around 2:30 PM. They were already vigorously working on another person's order when I walked up. They let me know there'd be a small wait, and only a few minutes passed before someone was there to take my order. The food was ready around 5 or so minutes after I made my payment. Guy was friendly the entire time (And you have some awesome ink, bro. Wish I could have said that in person but I was in a hurry.) Smell was heavenly, and it remained warm for the drive back. The fries are my unicorn favorite! Something I don't find in many places. Perfectly crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, perfectly seasoned. I would guess they fry the chips in the same batter that they fry the fish. Fish itself was delicious, and I found myself nearly stuffed by the time I got through the second one, and I'm not lightweight when it comes to food. Great portion size. I would have only wished it was a tad more crispy, but that's me. It was pricey, so I don't see myself picking up this meal again for a while, but I don't see a reason to drop a star for that reason because the food, portion, and service was up to par despite the natural expectations I had. Thank you for the food and for the service!

On the Hook FISH truck WORST overall food service experience I've had in years. The food was overcooked and taken straight from the fryer into the box with no time to drain. It was layered in grease, you can see her hands after moving 1 piece aside. I can understand accidents happen, but when we returned to ask about it their explanation is that it gets soggy in the box. We had gone home to eat and come straight back. Literally a 6 minute round trip! Finally he agreed to remake the order. After stepping away the third guy inside the truck yelled out "what was wrong"? There was nothing right about paying 25 dollars for something we could not eat without getting sick. At that time we were just done with them and the mention of a refund fell on deaf ears. We were hyped up because of all the positive reviews, and were COMPLETELY let down by the experience!! I would give zero stars if I could.

I've been to the this truck in Weatherford, Texas at the. Tractor Supply parking lot four times. The first two times absolutely delish!!! The last time the fish and fries were "so-so" beyond greasy... Sooo I thought I'd try one last time. My first inkling that this is not good, is when I pulled up in parking lot and the smell of fish was overwhelming.... then when I approached the window to order.... I was knocked back and shocked at the fish smell. Even the lady behind said Wow!! "I've never smelled the fish smell like this before" But.... I still ordered... over $35 plus a tip! Mind you.... we walk up...order... then walk back up and get it our order.... No one is serving us. Sooo asking for a tip... is always a little frustrating ... but I did! Over $40 for our meal... I asked for napkins and she handed me one paper towel. When I got to my daughter's work... and opened the container! It was burnt over cooked horribly greasy dark dark brown fish. The batter on fish was horribly overcooked. I made the mistake of tasting it. Sooo beyond fishy and tough! This was old fish and old old frying oil that was cooked way too hot. My daughter works at a beautiful hi end hair salon and it was stinking up the salon HORRIBLY! I was mortified and embarrassed! I'm sad to see this. I loved your fish and coleslaw! Not sure why this is happened.... I will...
