It is extremely unfriendly place especially if you have a dog and accent. I have to admit that Vermont is not your top 10 friendly state and business owners still need to learn how to be customer centric. My experiences at Mach's are extremely uneven. The front store is organized as an upscaled Italian deli/market with good cheese, wine and chocolate; but, when you look towards the large room behind the deli you will see the food is open and people walk in and out. The food is not packaged, either before going into oven or after oven. Customers walk in to look down the window to see the brook. I don't even know how they pass Vermont food hygiene regulations. Moreover if you own a dog you are not welcomed as the older gentleman told me " it is his private property and I should never walk my dog around the property. Picked up some take out from Deli {chicken Parmesan - which I would never buy, but this was the real deal, lightly , I mean lightly! breaded , delicately fried, with fresh sauce and fresh mozz {probably Maplebrook from Bennington by the looks of it} I am a fussy cook, and this was better than mine.
Bought some Speeder and Earl's coffee, picked up some sliced spanish dried chorizo for a cheese plate; chicken salad from deli was outstanding. I could go on because I walked out with two full boxes of food that tempted me {"Food Should Taste Good" brand guacamole corn ships, "Better Life" Countertop cleaner etc. etc. etc.} Should be a great place to pick up small items for food gifts at holiday time. Local products representation best around - I'll be...
