Probably the best place to visit in the fall for pumpkin patches and Halloween. We have been to many "pumpkin patch" places. This one certainly offers the most photo opportunities.
The actual pumpkin patch however was probably one of the worst places I have ever been. I assume it was because of the long hot summer this year, but honestly this looked like they put out bought pumpkins in rows. I get it but it was disappointing with all the positive things.
This place is trying to become a theme park for Fall fest with different rides amd attractions but have missed the mark as for durability in my opinion. The "attractions" as you would call them definitely need some maintenance. There were some loose nails, rickety stairs and other easy to fix things that needed to be done. Nothing life threatening but definitely potential injuries.
The staff in if itself were steller friendly folks that had or made the time to talk to you. I especially enjoyed talking to the guys on the tractors that hauled people back and forth from the sunflower field and pumpkin patch.
The consessions where more than adequate with all sorts of drinks and a limited food menu. What was really shocking was the prices.
I get that this is a buisness and that having a larger overhead to pay for staff and maintenance what-not. But the price to quality ratio didn't seem balanced enough for me to want to spend anymore money than I had to aside from the entrance fee.
Parking was free, but you are parking out in a field and there is no handicap parking and nothing is paved so be sure to drop people off at the front door if you have that need.
From the parking lot to the main gate is a short walk compared to major theme parks but it's long enough to notice and elderly people may struggle a bit.
There were some fall vendors outside the gate selling all kinds of craft fair items, it was a nice touch and all of them where happy to talk with you amd answer questions about their wares.
All in all, I would come back again, a bit more prepared with my own drinks and snacks. And most definitely on a cooler day than 97 degrees.
I find that you will make great photo memories as I have and will enjoy yourself if you go in a large group. 10 people or more get a discount.
Make it a family event for fall pictures. You won't be disappointed. If you are looking just for a pumpkin, you will do much better elsewhere.
Pros:
Plenty of photo opportunities Plenty of activities Plenty of consessions Plenty of restrooms Engaging friendly staff Sunflower fields You can bring your own snacks and drinks
Cons
-Quality over cost is just to low -There are things that need. maintenance and could potentially cause injury -Parking in the field for handicap or elderly may prove to much for the journey -pumpkins are...
Read moreSo this place has a lot to do but I wasn't thrilled with my experience. Here is how it went. At the gate I purchased 3 "haunted armbands" for $20 a piece ($60 total). This allows you to do everything except go karts so I also purchased 3 go kart tickets at $4 each ($12 total). We arrived at 4:30. We immediately wanted to check out the corn maze with family we met there, however, pumpkin patch closes at 6 and the line was long. We very briefly went into the corn maze and found our way out within 20 minutes (we took a short cut to save time). We went straight to the pumpkin patch line. By the time we were taken to the patch, quickly picked pumpkins, waited for the ride back, loaded up a wagon, paid an additional $20 for pumpkins and took them to our vehicle, it was 6:30. At this point we went straight for go karts. We waited an hour and a half, saw multiple people injured, and the ride wasn't impressive. Since it was 8 already, we needed food. We headed to BBQ and the line didn't appear to long, however, we were in it for an hour. When we got to the front they were out of pulled pork too, which was frustrating but not unexpected at this point. Luckily we had family that could wait in the Zombie Paintball line while we grabbed $40 in food (2 meals, nachos, and a side). We got to the Zombie Paintball line with them at about 9:10. We waited in line there for what was about a 8 minute ride to shoot 8 "zombies" which were essentially live targets moving back and forth. We pulled up at the gate at 9:55. The place closes at 10. Though I'm glad to have some time spent with family, that was $132 for 3.5 "events" and food in 5 and a half hours. Leaving this review solely to let others know...
Read moreThere were hundreds of people in line when we arrived, we didn’t realize in three separate lines that one was cash only because the signs were hidden under the shaded awning. Apparently I was in the cash only line but needed to use my credit card and the employee just could not handle being polite and patient with my apparent mistake. She was able to easily use my credit card tender but not after overcharging me for the wrong bracelet of activities and the only reason I noticed this is because I had asked for a receipt to see how much she charged my credit card. Once again, she just could not handle another step in my simple request, she chose to use cursewords when she then realized that she overcharged me for the wrong bracelet and she said bad words in front of me and my nine-year-old girls. I guess it was such hard work for her to have to count out cash from the over charge from her register because she could not cancel the transaction or was not trained to do so. This was the very start of her day and I would hate to think how she treated the other hundreds of guests that also made the simple mistake getting in her line. She was an older lady with short black hair extra make-up. I hope that she will be re-trained to have a little more compassion, patience, kindness, and better customer service skills. I’m so proud of my girls they informed me that we were not gonna let this bad employee...
