We absolutely love coming to this drive-in movie theater in Newville a couple of times a year—it’s one of our favorite traditions! The atmosphere is nostalgic and relaxing, with that perfect small-town charm that makes the experience feel truly special every time. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the grounds are well-maintained and clean. The screen and sound quality are great, especially considering you’re watching from the comfort of your own car or lawn chairs under the stars. The snack bar is reasonably priced with all the classic treats—popcorn, candy, and hot food—everything you’d hope for at a drive-in. It’s a fantastic, family-friendly spot that never disappoints. Whether it’s a date night or a fun outing with friends and kids, this drive-in is a must-visit. Highly recommend making the trip to Newville if you haven’t yet!

Had a great time! Caught the Trolls: World Tour/Sonic the Hedgehog double feature. Get there an hour early to buy tickets and confirm reserved designated parking spots. After said hour, spots are given out to first come, first serve. Concessions were open, with workers behind a plastic tarp, wearing masks and gloves. Served burgers, fries, hot dogs, popcorn and soda, with ice cream too, on the side. Bathrooms were a bit tight, but not bad. Social distancing guidelines were posted throughout. You could turn your car radio to 88.7 and hear the audio of the movie right in your vehicle! My partner and I had a wonderful time, would recommend and go again!

Great local drive in movie, workers are all very friendly. Make sure you rent a radio ($2 rental) asap if you need one, they get sold out quickly. Or bring your own radio, your phone would not work; since phone cannot receive radio waves. Or just sit in your car. They have good food options, nothing fancy but price reasonable. Fries were well fried and crispy, chicken tender is not our favorite due to the up charge price for them. Also offer good burgers, hot dog, ice cream and many more. Bring cash if you don’t want to pay the credit card machine fee! Here is a photo of the menu as July 2024

First let me just say I’ve always been a fan of the drive in I absolutely love it and it pains me to give a bad review but come on guys get it together. The website still has not been updated since the first weekend of may as to what is showing. And come on you have been playing the same movie as the first movie every weekend since opening. I have wanted to see every second movie you have shown but I do not want to sit through guardians of the galaxy a trillion times just to see all these other movies. You are running a business so please do better. Care more. I get drive ins are becoming things of the past but they are also few and far in between. We already lost our skating rink please don’t cause us to lose the drive in too. Do better care more. Right now due to reasons I won’t discuss the drive in is one of the few things I have that I can actually go out and do so please do better. Change your movies up more, update your site… don’t let this die out too

06/13/2023 Increasing my stars from the harsh one to a 3. they have been updating a little better so minor improvements a little trick for those who are having the same issue… go to the site on Monday evenings/Tuesday when you want to see what’s playing on the upcoming weekend and click on reservations and then click the make reservation and it should show you what is playing . I know it’s not perfect but it’s a hack. So I will increase the stars a little because I know we don’t want to see our drive in disappear I know I don’t want to see it go I’m rooting for it to do better so that it can continue to stay and thrive and not go under but it needs the honest reviews so it can fix the issues as unfortunate...

We always have a good time here and it's 2 movies for the price of 1. You can rent a radio for $2 if you don't have your own or don't want to use your car stereo but get them fast because they do run out.

Go early or reserve so you can get a good spot. If you get behind someone with a raised hatch they are supposed to tie it down so as not to block your view. The drive ins provide the rope.

The bathrooms leave something to be desired. There are porta-potties and a regular bathroom with 4 stalls. The ladies bathroom floor gets soaked from so much traffic and splash from washing hands. I no longer wear flip flops and prefer slip-on sneakers for the drive ins. I doubt this would be an easy activity for someone in a wheelchair just because of the bathroom situation but I wouldn't say it's impossible. Also take hand sanitizer in case the soap runs out.

We always take blankets and bug spray just in case. We go to the concessions for fries, pretzels, and drinks. It's a fun time even for our 1 kid who always falls asleep halfway through the 2nd movie😆 Oh and kids...

I haven't been to a drive-in since the 80s and was looking for one to go to. Luckily, the Cumberland Drive-In was very conveniently located off route 81 and the place was everything I would hope to find in a drive-in. It was clean, the staff was all extremely friendly and helpful, the prices were quite reasonable ($10- for two movies) and the actual video and audio quality was excellent. It was like stepping into a time machine as it was exactly how I remembered going to the drive-in as a kid (I'm 50 btw). For the audio, gone are the days of the tinny speaker attached to a post. Instead, you tune your FM radio to a specific station and you're set. No radio? No problem. There's radios available to rent for only $2-. The only drawback to them is that they are mono. If you're looking for a fun night out and enjoy the drive-in experience, definitely check this place out. Tip - bring portable chairs and blankets if you like to sit outside as the second movie will...
