Griswold Grocery & Liquor — Local services in Peoria

This place is home and home will always be home is where I grew up as well I was raised when my parents was living and we lived in the Harrison home with my mom and my dad and my siblings and my granny. To me I can never go wrong with going to Griswold Grocery & Liquor. I don't have any pictures to share. But it's not always about buying anything it's like reconnecting with my life and family and friends.

Honestly I love the price of their products. And I have been going there since I was a youth, teenager and now I'm an adult (my age ranged from 9 yrs old to now I'm 62 and will be 63 this year of 2024.

I used to have to go here when I worked on the lottery machines. I’d have to wait while they put their guard dog in an adjacent room so he wouldn’t attack me. The people working there were always nice to me but it was nerve wracking waiting to get inside that metal cage they had enclosing the counter area. They had a pistol and a sawed-off shotgun at hand. I had heard from some co-workers that they also once had a cattle prod to discourage some of the little darlings from the neighborhood from reaching in the openings of the metal mesh to swipe stuff.
