The building is piled from floor to ceiling with everything imaginable and some things you can't imagine. There are things in this building that although they may be interesting, and even of some value, you will become weary trying to get to them and get them off the shelf. They make you work very hard for "their" profit/money. The place is a fire hazard and a mess. And though they may be friendly, anything I asked for or about was either something the owner liked to much to sell or they had no idea if they even had it. He does not want to sell most of his inventory or he would sell at reasonable fair market prices. Way overpriced considering the work you will need to do getting to it, and cleaning it thoroughly once you get it out the door. Everything is filthy. I have watched numerous episodes of "Hoarders" but have never seen one make a business out of it. I am serious. He needs help. If nothing else the fire dept should make the building safe. No fire exits. You have to turn sideways to get down the isles. A waste of time and perilous. Hoarders don't really want to dispense with anything...A long drive...
Read moreThis store actually has two separate locations but both are located right here in beautiful downtown Perry (seriously... Perry is great!) but only a few yards up the street. It's worth visiting both. As others have mentioned the stores are over full. Certainly not wheel chair accessible much past the door. I wouldn't take young children in these stores. There are actually aisles you cannot get to because there are 6 foot high stacks of stuff between the shelves. Take your time. Explore. Consider this an American Pickers adventure. My other criticism on Total Resale has to deal with prices. Hardly anything has a price tag (which I hope leaves room for haggling) and the things that are priced have high prices. Expect to pay full new retail prices for used, battered items. For example, I was attracted to a nice no brand canvas computer bag. It was somewhat soiled, dusty and some of the trim was cracked. $75. Unbelievable. I met two staff. They were friendly and one was very helpful. I remain astounded but the sheer volume of...
Read moreAs a person who likes to dig around and doesn’t mind a dirty environment to find some goods, this place is horrible. Stuff stacked high, can’t even look around at anything. The worst part is that everything is SO expensive! If I have to dig around for something it’s worth it if I’m paying cheap, but why would I have to pay an eBay price when I’m fighting for my life in the crypts for it? It has even gotten to a point where they have shut off two aisles that were once open, not because there is something wrong with them, but because they have filled them (literally) to the ceiling with stuff. It is simply not worth going to, I much recommend the Williamston antique market if you’re looking for...
