The Brook — Local services in Peru Township

On the plus side, this venue is gorgeous! The scenery is gorgeous and the bridal suite, man cave, pavilion and hall are very nice as well. They have lots of great options for lodging for your guests to stay onsite, which is really nice as well. And to top it all off, this place is really affordable compared to other venues!

On the down side, the lack of staff presence onsite and responsiveness of the management leaves something to be desired. When the bridal party arrived the day before the wedding, there was no one around to help us find anything. They just left the rooms and cabins that are reserved unlocked with the keys in the room, so you hopefully you remember which one you reserved and enjoy a scavenger hunt to try and find it! Then the bride didn’t have any towels in her room, so we had to run her some from the other cabin.

I tried calling a couple of times the Thursday before the wedding with a few questions and couldn’t reach anyone. So when I got on-site then bride said the management responds to text messages better. Well the brides family was messaging a couple times requesting a later check out and did not receive any response Friday, so I messaged Saturday and finally received an answer.

Then a stray dog was roaming around the property trying to eat the wedding cake that was being set up in the pavilion, so I messaged the manager at 11:24 AM and they told me to call the dog pound, but I asked them to call since I was busy as the maid of honor. Well when they couldn’t reach the dog pound they said they would be there to take care of the problem. But then didn’t show up to handle it until 2 PM 😑, over 2 hours later. Meanwhile, guests for the wedding are showing up a few minutes before the official checkin time asking where their rooms are and I am left to deal with answering questions and trying to call management again 😡

We booked the Brook almost two years in advance for our September wedding. We toured a couple of times before making our choice, but we had a unique vision for our wedding weekend and the Brook was perfect. We booked the whole weekend, which was extremely affordable, and we LOVED that we, and our family and friends, could stay on site in the cabins. Up until our special day, the owners were extremely transparent and communicative with us, their goal is to host an affordable and unique wedding venue, and they have absolutely done so. We were able to come in the first day and start decorating right away, which was amazing because I made all of the decor myself. They had a coordinator on site to help with setup, and make any last-minute adjustments, she was extremely flexible and even more kind! She was there early the next day helping to organize vendors. They have a full kitchen on site, with coolers and warmers, and our family made all of the food and this venue was PERFECT for doing so. Throughout the wedding, our coordinator made sure everything ran smoothly, and ensured that the night was going exactly how we had envisioned. After the reception, most of our close friends and family, including those staying on site, gathered around and spent time together at a fire pit that they had on site, which exactly how we envisioned spending our wedding weekend, immersed in the nature that drew us to the venue to start with. We were also able to have our best friend, and dog of honor, on site with us the entire weekend, and we were SO grateful to be able to have him with us on a special day. Everything about the Brook is amazing, and I would recommend it to ANY couple who wants a beautiful, unique and luxurious experience surrounded by nature, without the luxury price tag (that’s very common in that area of Ohio)!!! We had SO many compliments, and thank the crew at the Brook for giving us such a wonderful day...

Our wedding at The Brook was nothing short of perfection, and we are endlessly grateful for the experience we had there. From the very beginning, Chloe was incredible! She was responsive, thoughtful, and genuinely kind. Her communication and care throughout the planning process made everything feel smooth and stress-free. You can tell she truly loves what she does, and it shows in every interaction.

The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking. The natural beauty of The Brook is unmatched, from the lush woods to the flowing creek, and the countless flowers and greenery they’ve added throughout the space. Even the simplest corners feel magical and full of life. It’s a venue that allows you to truly make it your own, which we loved. Every detail reflected us perfectly.

The staff was equally amazing. Everyone we encountered was so friendly and helpful, they added such a calm and positive energy to the day. We truly felt taken care of from start to finish
