Dollar General — Local services in Petal

One reason I like this Dollar General location in Dixie on Elks Lake Rd is because they stay open until 10 pm.!! Also, it's only about a 10 minute drive from my house, which is very convenient, especially if I'm making a meal and I'm short just one ingredient or need a soda! Along with Dollar General, there is a convenient store, Turbo Valero, next door, as well as a hair-cutting salon, and Newt's Catfish restaurant. The cashiers at this site are AMAZING! I came in to grab something quickly, and noticed that the cashiers were helping a customer figure out why a coupon did not work at checkout. I didn't mind waiting while they very patiently worked with the customer to show her the information about the fine print on the coupon. They didn't come across as impatient or irritated. Generally what you expect from a dollar general, this one gets lots of traffic due to it's close proximity to Petal High. Most times things are all over the place in the store and the staff can't keep up with putting things in their place.
