Fulmer's General Store Home of Pecan Festival — Local services in Petal

I love eating lunch here and had not been for quite a while. I was happy when my husband asked me if I wanted to go.

Most of the food was really good. The country fried steak, potato salad, okra and tomatoes and cornbread muffin were great.

I had asked the server if the green beans were fresh. She told me they were and also said everything was fresh so I ordered them as a side.

Well, they definitely were not fresh. I have cooked enough fresh green beans and also have had plenty from a can at times to know the difference.

Please, please don’t be dishonest and if you don’t know, just say so or go ask. I would have gotten something else. I didn’t say anything but now I wish I had. Just don’t be dishonest. I was very disappointed.

Also, the tea was very very strong. Someone left teabags in too long making it bitter. Even my husband commented to me about it. It should have been remade.

For the price, they need to do better. We drove about an hour, round trip...

Wow we were so pleased that we took this little detour. we had lunch and coffee. poppy seed chicken, potato soup, corn bread, broccoli cheddar rice and rice and gravy. Everything was hot and so delicious. nothing like good home cooking. the store and grounds are so special. Rows of home canned items, fresh spices and baked goods. and so much more. We enjoyed our conversation with Carey. everyone there is so friendly and hospitable. we walked around the grounds, this is where they have an annual Pecan festival in the fall. We attended the annual Pecan Festival that they host each year. If you feel like stepping back in time, this is the place! What a wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff! The food was not just "fair food" but delicious homemade treats and meals. The General Store has so many great item you don't see often. Great prices too! The simple kiddie area brought squeals of joy by such great people. Their strongest quality by far is the staff and vendors that work there! What a wonderful day we had listening to real live music while strolling along and enjoying just being surrounded by friendliness. This is the kind of place that makes America the greatest country...
