South Fork General Store — Local services in Petersburg

We recently traveled from Ohio & had the pleasure of visiting this store while on a hunting trip nearby. The area is extremely scenic, but generally remote with no phone, web or TV service. The owners define the word hospitable. They offer the use of their wi-fi & phone asking for nothing in return. When we expressed an interest in watching a 3 hour sporting event on Sunday evening, they freely offered to stay open well past closing time so we could watch the TV. They have all the basic necessities for sale (including beer), and a full kitchen/grill for great hot and cold meals. We cannot over recommend this place for anyone that finds themselves in that vicinity. Thank-you for being so kind and helpful, you made our trip so much more enjoyable. These folks are the very definition of kind people. They are always there for you when you need something. They have an excellent cook in the kitchen whipping up anything from burgers to quesadillas. They also have a gracious front man to help you with anything from directions to and from or knowledge and history about the area and historic house. They have live music if you happen to be are there on the right day. They have great gifts to sell if your passing through some made right there and others made locally from people around town.
