We recently had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at Lake Owego Camp in June 2023, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this venue was something truly special. Here is why we highly recommend Lake Owego Camp (or any of the camps run by Pine Forest Camp):
Event Spaces: Pine Forest Camp boasts three different camps nearby, and we had the privilege of getting married at Lake Owego Camp. The ceremony took place in the open-air theater, with the serene pond serving as a breathtaking backdrop. The dining hall, where all our meals and the wedding reception were held, provided a warm and inviting atmosphere. With around 20 shared cabins and 15 private rooms onsite, our 130 guests were comfortably accommodated for the entire weekend. We also took advantage of the outdoor eating area for our rehearsal dinner. The venue's additional amenities, including a swimming pond, kayaking, fishing, fields for sports and lawn games, tennis and basketball courts, a hockey rink, and hiking trails, ensured there was never a dull moment.
Ambience: Immersing ourselves in the mountain camp ambiance was a dream come true. The venue's quiet, wooded surroundings, lush greens, and natural interiors created a tranquil atmosphere. The use of pine throughout the camp added a touch of rustic charm, providing a perfect setting for our special weekend.
Cabins: The cabins at Lake Owego Camp brought back memories of summer camp, offering a unique and nostalgic experience. Equipped with cots and bunks, each cabin featured ample facilities, including two showers, two toilets, and two sinks. While there was no AC or heating, it wasn't an issue for us in early June.
Catering: Working closely with Matt, we crafted an outstanding menu that not only met our budget but also catered to various dietary restrictions. Our guests were particularly delighted by the taco night!
Customer Service: Elly, our point person at Pine Forest Camp, was an absolute delight to work with. Her exceptional communication skills and availability ensured that our questions were promptly answered and concerns addressed. Elly went above and beyond to create systems that allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the weekend without being overwhelmed by the minute details. Her dedication and professionalism made a significant difference in our overall experience.
Flexibility: When our previous venue unexpectedly canceled just two months before our wedding date, Pine Forest Camp showed tremendous understanding and flexibility. They graciously accommodated our situation, working with us to create the wedding weekend we had envisioned. Their willingness to go the extra mile truly demonstrated their commitment to making our dreams come true.
Overall: Without hesitation, we give Lake Owego Camp and the Pine Forest Camp crew a perfect score of 10 out of 10. We wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone seeking a truly remarkable wedding experience. Our heartfelt thanks go to Elly, Matt, and the entire team for making our wedding weekend unforgettable for us and our guests. Their attention to detail, warm hospitality, and dedication to creating a magical atmosphere surpassed our expectations. Lake Owego Camp will forever hold a special place...
Read moreI have never been so disappointed in the way the owner of the camp handle a situation. I fully understand that there is a zero tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol. I also know that theres a grey area... this camper has a sibling going through chemo, the THC that was in the bag was mistaking left in there. After admitting to the mistake I ASKED MIKEY BLACK THE OWNER TO PLEASE UNDERSTAND THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND NOT PUNISH A CHILD FOR A PARENTS ERROR.having found the THC in the campers bag, he insisted on the camper leave within 24 hours, the owner was asked to drug test the child, if he came out with even a trace finding of the the in his system I think that he would have ever right to have him removed. the camper did not even know it was in the bag. The owner Mickey Black, flat out refused, did not care that the the was accidentally left in the bag which wasn't the campers and it was for his sister who uses it as an alternative treatment for the see effects of the chemotherapy. He loved Pine Forest Camp, our family has spent a total of 28 years between four kids there. This is how you treat people. In case you are unaware, medical marijuana is LEGAL in there state of PA. absolutely...
Read moreSo many of you may be reading these reviews about this marijuana story, but let me get the facts straight. First of all Sam Daigi is a spoiled brat. The only time he does not fly first class or on his private jet is on the way to camp. May I also tell you that his parents land a helicopter on the camp field for visiting day and they make all the other families look like plebs. Pine forest is an amazing institution. How could the family be so careless to let their son “accidentally” bring marijuana to camp. This is obviously a fake account but I was a camper here for seven years and I don’t want to be come after for revealing the truth. Many facts about this story have been forged. For confidentiality reasons I cannot reveal a few of these facts. I do not want this entitled family to win this horrible battle because they think they can bring down a camp just because they’re rich. A lesson in life: do not always believe the first story you hear. Also Gabi (the one trying to bring the camp down) is not a vigilante whatsoever. Keep in mind she got fired as a counselor for making out...
