Excellent place to hike in the Phoenix area. Some trails give you a nice view of Phoenix city skyline. Lots of trail options and opportunities to see Saguaros. We use hiking project app to see distance and elevation gain/loss information of each trail. There isn’t any shade so go when the weather is cooler and be sure to bring water. Trails are well maintained and busy with hikers but you can still get your solitude.

It's a good trail to stretch out and get familiar with the terrain. Once you've mastered DC, give some of the interior trails a try. A fun route is parking at the Beverly trail head and taking Pima to the national trail head. From there you have tons of options. National is funny with some tech.
