Dollar General — Local services in Picayune

The store closed at 10 pm, it was 9 pm when we arrived to pick up a few things. There were 2 ladies working. A loud older lady, and a younger lady. This was Monday, June 6th. The older lady was talking to who I’m assuming was the younger employee, very loudly, and we were in the back of store and could hear her! She said that she brings the products displayed outside of the front door in at 9, and that she intentionally blocks all the aisles so costumer’s can not get around and so costumer know to leave. I was floored hearing her, she was saying this loud enough for all costumers to hear! I can understand pulling stuff inside and down the aisles, like every other Dollar General in town, but making the store inaccessible to costumers is just bad business. And she sure enough had a huge kiddie pool, grilling display, etc blocking off the entire front of store where you could not hardly get in the front door, or, like us, if you were in the store already and had to check out, we had to go around the back of the store to the side to get to the register. It was ridiculous and unprofessional. I work costumer service, I get that when it gets close to closing time, you get antsy to leave, but I would NEVER talk like that in front of costumers and make the business inaccessible. If you do not like working here, seek employment elsewhere, otherwise at least do your job and pretend to care about the business...

Its a basic dollar general. Nothing out of the ordinary. The cashiers are always nice and personable. Haven't had any issues at this location with the exception of having to look for the cashier every now and then, but that's the usual at most dollar generals b/c the cashiers also stock.
