Skate Station — Local services in Picayune

I go here every Friday or Saturday, yes i am just a kid, but heres a few things i experienced. The staff is so kind, going up to the register, they have smiles on their face in which makes me smile. They take requests for songs to play. Yes there’s is kids that use vulgar language, but the staff can’t get all the kids at once because they are also dealing with — working at the register, monitoring where people pick up skates, and people on the skate floor. I do agree the food price is kinda high for food, but at the same time they need this money to keep their place open. They have really amazing service, talking to the owner — Debbie , She is so sweet. I was dealing with an issue with a kid and she fixed it INSTANTLY! I would highly recommend talking to Debbie rather than the workers If there is an issue, But overall, I enjoy my experiences with them. We came for a birthday on Saturday and the whole skating rink looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since I was there as a child. When we went to get skates, they didn’t have any skates to fit my two small kids, so we didn’t get to skate even though we were paid for. The kid behind the counter said they overbooked on parties and didn’t have enough skate skates for everyone (?!) so my kids (and others I’m sure) missed out on skating. The girl who came to cut the cake set the clean gloves down on a nasty countertop then touched the cake with the gloves. Food safety is obviously not followed. It just looks dingy and gross, and I can’t believe it’s still in operation when looking like that, And also if they don’t have enough skates for everyone, and also if they don’t follow food safety. My kids always have fun here, I just wish they'd bring the decor out of the late 80's and early 90's. The area for preschoolers looks kinda like they took the designs from a cat house and just made it bigger so small children could climb through the tunnels, across the shelves and down the scratching post looking slide. There is always a pretty good crowd, the employees are nice and friendly, and the food is better than you'd expect. If they just did some minor updating and remodeling I don't see how it would do anything but benefit everyone involved. 90's retro or not I'm very grateful we have it because it's one of the very few things our kids...
