DCP Haunted Trail — Local services in Piedmont

What a great time! This was my son’s first haunted house, and it was just perfect. All the staff was really nice, and there were quite a few kid actors. They said the youngest was 7! It made my son feel more comfortable.

Get there early if you do not want to get the fast pass. We were there right at 7 and the wait was around 30 minutes. We got the pass, because I was afraid if we waited too long and my son heard people screaming, I would never get him through. With our pass, we ended up being the first group to go (you will go with just your group, they don’t combine you with other people).

Also, know they don’t let people through until it is dark. So if you show up at 7 and there’s still a little light, you will wait in line until it’s dark. Some of the actors will come through the line for scares, though.

I think one of the most awesome things about this “House” is that it’s outside, which allows for a lot more scare opportunities than indoor houses. You are limited on how many “”scaries” you can put in one room, or on how many places they can hide. But out in the woods, it’s wide open. Don’t want to ruin it for anyone, but let me just say “zombie apocalypse”. One of the coolest things I’ve seen done!

You’ll scream! Laugh(maybe)! Scream some more! RUN(definitely!!!) Cry(maybe)! Wet yourself? GO BEFORE GOING ON THE TRAIL!!! I was told there were some people that couldn’t make it out before they had toddler accidents! But definitely WEAR the RIGHT SHOES!!! You will get your cardio workout for the month in just ONE VISIT!!! I know I did! I was breathing so hard, it was minutes before I could talk! Definitely a Must do because it’s definitely different from last year’s trail. I would include photos but left phone in my car to protect it and not lose it...

I may be a little biased since I work here, but I think we're amazing! Every family member and friend I've made gone through has said it was super fun and very spooky. Sometimes our costumes scare me in broad daylight. We have cops on site for security, so you know you'll be taken care of if there's any problems. Its outdoors in the woods and the ground can be a bit uneven, so I'd keep that in mind when scheduling your visit and what shoes to wear!
