Town & Country Supermarket — Local services in Piedmont

My last three visits here have been less than favorable. It started when I put together my shopping list with what I had clipped coupons online for, and the cashier not able to get her register to accept my phone number. So, I did not get the coupons applied for that trip. The next day I went in and I told a different cashier what happened the day before and she entered my phone number and my name and online coupons came right up for her. Next trip, their card reader was reading "insufficient funds" I knew it was wrong but paid cash instead. Immediately after I checked my bank account which I had more than enough to cover the transaction and tried my card at dollar general and had zero issues. Most recent shopping trip, I apparently purchased a bag of sugar that was previously torn and taped up. I didn't notice before buying it, because I do not expect any store to sell damaged goods. I have been trying to pick up a Western Union transfer since 7:45am and was told they needed to go to the bank first and since they hadn’t, they did not have enough cash to pay me my transfer. I even called back at 8:20am to see if I came at 9:30am if I could cash out my $373.00 money transfer. I was told they had went to the bank but all they had gotten was 1’s, 5’s and 10’s and to pay me my transfer would depend on how busy they are between now and then!? I’m confused as to how the employee knew that I would be back to get my money, because I told her I would be, but failed to get the money from the bank for my transaction and instead is relying on the pure luck that random customers would come in and buy enough to pay me! Rest assaured I will not be using Westwrn Union at this location ever again and if this is the policy for all Western Union locations I will never use Western Union service ever again. Horrible and unprofessional...

The only grocery store for 35 miles. Beware of bait and switch pricing. More often than not they're out of deli specials on meats and cheeses the day after it's advertised.The packaged meat is a hit and miss as far as freshness. Always check dates on meat and dairy. The staff is friendly but the store could be cleaner. When you live rural you are held hostage by stores like this. The prices are high on most things... 2 yr. update - nothing's changed but the prices which are outrageous. Advertised special shelves are still empty 50% of the time especially in the meat dept - go to the processing store for fresh meats. ALWAYS check expiration dates on meats and dairy - every time.
