First, we could not get into the cabin (yes I pre-checked in). I was told a storm may have changed the codes; but why no one contacted me via email or phone with new codes is a wonder. Next, this particular cabin should NEVER have been rented because it had several issues. I have pictures for verification but there was no submit button. Upon arrival the cabin had a faint odor and the furniture looked worn (upon closer review their were white & dark spots on it as if it hadn't been cleaned in quit sometime). The kitchen counter tops had not been wiped down; then venturing off to the bedrooms all of the linen had to be washed. Some were torn, had spots on them, etc. Later in the evening flies began to appear. A couple upstairs flying around but as you went to the lower level down the stairwell the amount increased a lot and when you got downstairs it increased drastically especially in the window seals. They were everywhere, they were large, inside the room where the washer was also. We killed at least 100 or more flies during the stay. The lower level smelled of urine. The king room lower level bathroom sink on the left side was slower than molasses; the wood on the ceiling in the room looked water logged as if it was water damaged had dripped all down the wood in the room; contributing to the smell. The lower level carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed or cleaned in awhile. I also killed a cochroach in the kitchen on the floor! On the website everything looked so vibrant and clean; what we walked into was NOTHING like the website. The pictures I have show old, cracked, used chipped furniture thats in need of updating. $150 refund is not nearly enough for the mess of a birthday weekend I experienced in this cabin!
