Where to begin....
I had no choice but to get IMC after having to move. I've had their service for about 10-11 months now. Out of those 10-11 months my internet has only worked somewhat correctly about a month.
I work from home and my internet is my life. Without it I have no money, no health insurance... nothing...
Before moving I asked the company if they supported logging into a VPN and working from home.
The said yes and I would have no issues..
I signed up for service and a whooping 3 weeks later they installed it.
My service wasn't installed anymore than 15 minutes before it went down the first time.
I waited to see if it would resolve itself since it was just installed and I figured it was still activating on their end.... wrong.
This started the horrendous struggle I faced for months to get my internet to stay in more than an hour at a time. I almost lost my job because the company I was paying $200 / month too wouldn't come out and fix the problem.
I called IMC at least 200 times and every single time they would say ok I'll get a guy out but it will take 3/5 days. Now this would have been ok if the issue hadn't been on going but whenever a tech would come out he would literally do nothing but walk in my house and say I'm going to need to get a supervisor out.
I waited for about 6 months for this magical supervisor who never showed. Ever.
Last time I called I was on the verge of being fired and they again wanted me to wait 3-5 days for a tech to come out after the supervisor never showed.
This is when I had to get mean and call a lawyer. Yes a lawyer... to get my internet that I was paying $200 for to work.
I was advised to call the FCC which I did. The FCC filed a complaint with IMC and the next morning this magical supervisor appeared at my door. He and his team spent hours re-running lines up the road to my house (Arkansas) since then my internet has worked pretty ok however as I am typing this right now my internet is going in and out. I've power cycled about 3x and the issue persists so I guess it's time to call back the horrible and rude customer service.
Morale of the story? These guys will rip you off and lie to you if you let them. You have to stand your ground because they will tell you whatever they can to leave your house without repairing anything.
One guy even tried to blame my Apple TV... I was like well that's great and all but the issue happens on Ethernet not wifi.
If you have unresolved issues please contact the FCC. They will help you get the issue somewhat fixed anyway and if they get enough complaints maybe IMC will be forced to step up their game.
Btw to this day I haven't been given any type of discount bill wise even though my service didn't work for months and I lost countless days of work and almost my job.

The internet, that you have to ludicrous amounts of money for, is TERRIBLE AND SLOW. I'm using cell phone data to write this because I don't want others to suffer the same fate. My husband and I bought the most expensive package (because we hoped that would combat the general slowness) and our internet cuts out ALL THE TIME. We have tried to schedule a techinian to come out to our apartment and fix in and the company has fought us at every turn. They first told us that the tech would come sometime between Tuesday and Thursday. WHAT?!?!?!? How is that acceptable scheduling. We both work and can't take off three days to wait for a tech that may or may not show up. Upon subsequent calls they said the tech would come between 1-5 on Wednesday. At least we got a real time frame this time. THE TECH NEVER SHOWED. My husband called and they said it could actually take till 8 PM. Waited till 8 - STILL NOTHING. They we called again and they won't reschedule our appointment until a tech comes to the apartment. HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE?!?!?! IF THE TECH SHOWED UP WE WOULDN'T NEED TO RESCHEDULE. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was on hold for over 18 minutes before someone assisted me in the billing department. The person assisting me seemed nice, but probably inexperienced. I was asking for help to get my cable bill cheaper, i do not own a HD tv, so i do not need HD channels. The lady seemed to be unable to assist me, she could not help with that, or fully explain why the sports charge was on my bill, before March's bill it was not on my bill under any other charge or name, and she explained the charge was always there, just under a different name. This is not true because the amount I was charged had increased because of this charge, and she pretty much was of no help, she told me to go online to change my subscription, well, I have not done that yet and today 3 days after calling for help, I now have no basic channels or expanded basic channels, but I do have HD channels and HBO. What is going on here at this company. I checked to see their better business bureau rating and found out they do not belong to the better business bureau, but if they did, they would have a rating of a B, I think this is because not many people actually look at the BBB's website like they used to.
