What a wonderful ride on the train today. With a1930's Coach that looked like it had just rolled off the Assembly line, trainmen dressed very similar to the days of old and flagstops at some crossings it was truly like stepping back in time. Chase the trainman was very friendly, informative and knew lots about the area as he spoke about upcoming plans. It's so good to see a company have long term plans for this area. The one thing I would add is Pocket watches for the Trainman just to add to the stepping back in time atmosphere lol. Regardless it was great! They said to tell all your friends and family which is what I will be doing. Very excited to see what they have in store next. Book this excursion you won't regret it. Train fans of young and old will love it! Book a trip today!
EDIT: Did this train ride again on 9/24 in their caboose on their new mannington limited trip and even better than before. Caboose is just as it was when new. And while waiting for the train we ran into old friend as well as once boarding the caboose just as you may have back in the 1930โs. I can not recommend this place enough. Excited to check out their new table car that debuts this weekend on 10/14 If you want to step back in time for an hour or so and fun for the whole family this is something you need to do. The crew is also great as they seem to be enjoying the train just as much as the customers if not more. You...
ย ย ย Read moreOver the weekend we had a glorious adventure riding the rails with the Woodstown Central Railroad! Do you love trains? Do you love beer? You should try their Brew to Brew excursion, it was amazing! We started off at Farmers and Bankers Brewing where we got our train tickets and tried some beer. When the whistle blew we grabbed some cans to go and took a short walk to the boarding area. We were all impressed when we boarded the beautifully restored 1937 Reading Railroad caboose. We rode about 5 miles through some picturesque woods and farmland. The train stopped right behind Swedesboro Brewing Co and we ventured over for more beer along with some food from Yo No Se Tacos. About an hour later we got back on the train and rode the rails back to Woodstown. The highlight of our adventure was the magical experience of riding the train! Everyone on board, including the staff, had this collective feeling that we were all just kids sharing a giant toy. The incredible staff was entertaining, accommodating, and kept us safe throughout the trip. I canโt wait to go back and take my dad on the scenic excursion. If you know anyone who loves trains, itโs all aboard the Woodstown Central Railroad! ๐๐ค๏ธ๐๏ธ๐บ #adventuresinsouthjersey #choochoo...
ย ย ย Read morefabulous experience. Conductors were very knowledgeable and friendly. We took the beer train from Woodstown to Swedesboro tip "excursion time" meant the time were to show up at the brewery not when the train was leaving! It was fine - being early meant we had more time in Woodstown which is definitely cuter than the part of Swedesboro where the brewery is locate (although Lotteria in that strip mall is delicious). Don't miss the Squirrel Nest (art classes but also craft boutique in store) P Bakery (yum) across the street and a cute little Primitives shop down the street Two Old Crows.
Edit Took our second ride on the BYO&B train. The table car is very nicely done. The tables for four are cozy so bring people you really like. The hour long excursion through rural Salem county always has something to see outside the windows. The staff is full of knowledgeable train enthusiast and a young conductor told us all about the restoration of the car. No fewer than three staff members checked to ensure our trip was satisfactory. I noticed lots of the other passengers brought additional food to supplement the cheese and meat board (pictured below) in addition to their beverages of choice. A few snacks and soft drinks are available...
