Rooted In — Local services in Pilot Point

Beautiful drive to this one and only Rooted In. It is a dreamy flower bed out of a movie magazine setting - a designer’s dream castle. There are several buildings on their campus, one show house full of beautiful items well placed for home decor and kitchen and garden ware. Another is a classroom/storeroom where demonstrations are held. There are several greenhouse/shade rooms and a classic old shed. The walkway into it all is also simply elaborate. Great place for photoshoots as everything again is well placed. We were greeted with pastries and water, from a meeting they had in the morning as well as a thank you for making the drive. They are into the use of the nature around them which we should all be paying more attention to. Pay attention to these guys - they’ve got it! Lovely, lovely establishment. Rooted In is our "go to" native plant store and we can't say enough about their healthy plant selection and amazing customer service. We've used their services to redesign and expand our front yard landscaping. We had to install a front yard sitting area so that we can watch and enjoy all of the new pollinators attracted to our garden. I've received so many compliments on it; a neighbor even gave us a painting of the garden because they loved it so much. Whenever I had follow up questions, the folks at Rooted In were always gracious and offered their expertise. We love their selection of pots and moss art as well as their informational workshops. We had a poor experience today. We stopped by this place only about 8 minutes before closing and just had a few daisies to pick up. Unfortunately, it took us about 3-4 minutes past closing time to get checked out. While leaving, a gentleman who I am assuming is the owner of this place told us ‘do not come back here; this is not a joke, do not come back here’. I do not know if me or my kids offended him just by being there, or if he was having a bad day - but I have never been treated like that at any establishment. I used to love this place, and used to drive an hour to get Texas natives for my garden, but now I regret giving this place my business. I pray this person be blessed with good sense to treat people like human beings - but rest assured, I will not be coming back...
