So many places to pull over and relax or picnic...fishing. (read the signs to make sure) I know from Rockford to Dixon at least its usually peaceful for a river that has a popular 2 lane (sometimes 4) highway next to it.

Beautiful river could use less snags but other than that love fishing this place it's got a good variety of fish but if your just fishing with worms 9 times outa 10 it'll be a catfish or a sheepshead but definitely alot of different species I lost a needle nose gar the other day right before landing it but it bit on a live shiner I've caught at least 7 different species in 150 foot radios definitely a fun river to fish my buddy caught a fishing pole the other day while rigged...

Peaceful and serene. A million beautiful views. Take it all in. Ducks, geese, cranes, fish. Choose a canoe, kayak, boat, pontoon, innertube,or just sit in your lawn chair on the bank. There's no wrong way to spend time...
