Clark Fork Meats — Local services in Plains

I paid way more ($305) to have this animal cut up than what I paid to the farmer who raised it ($200) I would not recommend taking an animal here for processing! Disorganized bunch of mess going on here, they got my animal delivered to them by the farmer then I called to give them my order - they lost it. They went ahead and processed the animal without my instructions then told me they did have my instructions but didn't seem to know what they were until I told them. Then said oh that's not a problem we already did it like that. Then when I asked them to split it into two equal halves because I was selling half of it to my friend they said oh we already did that these are the boxes (sealed up) so I didn't look inside until I got to my destination an hour and a half away and realized they were NOT split equally. One box contains nothing but sausage when I called them about it and also asked why my animal was apparently born without ribs, they said I could stop by and pick up a free roast if I was in...

Absolutely the best! We had previously purchased a side of beef from somewhere else and it was absolutely horrible. The meat tasted and smelled weird. No matter what I did, we could never get the taste or smell out. I was a little reluctant to spend more money but took a chance on Clark Fork Meats. Best decision we could've made. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They explained to me why meat sometimes smells and tastes bad, and that is why they take extra care when hanging the meat. We were in town for our daughter's wedding in Thompson Falls, and in all the chaos, we did not not realize that nobody had bought the meat for the reception until the night before the wedding! A quick call to Clark Fork Meats on the morning of the wedding day, and they had a box of steaks all individually shrink-wrapped and ready to go a couple of hours later.
