This was our first year getting our tree from Meert's, and we are terribly disappointed. In short, the tree that we cut from their farm (NOT a pre-cut tree) is, by far, the most unhealthy tree we have ever gotten. We cut the tree down, picked it up and immediately drove home with it inside the suburban. My husband immediately made a fresh cut and placed it in the tree stand. We use an inverted bottle that we fill as it empties so the tree always has water. This tree has been drinking nonstop! At first, I thought that was a good sign, but now, one week later, the tree is dropping needles like crazy and feels very dry. If you touch it, needles fall off. Many branches are more brown than green. We are so disappointed and hope it lives until Christmas! The only reason I gave Meert's two stars is because the farm itself was cute (although very commercial). Although the trees are more expensive, we will be returning to Heritage Valley in Washington in the future. I'm sorry to say, if you're looking for a healthy tree, Meert's is not the...
Read moreHas always been a family tradition to drive 50 miles to your tree farm to cut our 9-foot trees (white pines) but those days, like any of this height, are gone. Having made the trip, we settled for a "pre-cut" fraser fir that cost about $100 last year (2018). Brought in from North Carolina. It was fresh, smelled great, and drank a gallon of water a day. But not as tall. They'd sold out very quickly. Still taking up water, it lasted until mid-January. And the smell out back lasted until summer! Got their early this year to get another. Prices had jumped more than 70%! $170 for a 9 1/2' foot tree. $18/foot! Called first. Was told by Mark to expect a big price hit; that they'd be $16/foot. But not fresh! Not taking up more than a cup of water a day. (Cut 2" off trunk to get past dried sap). Little to no smell! Very disappointing. End of...
Read moreWe got a tree from meert farm last year and it did the same thing but not as bad. My husband wanted to give them another try this year so we did! We got the fir tree. It started shedding after a few days of having it but after a week is when it really got bad! I finally called to complain and the lady just said idk what to tell you but you can come get another tree. Um they are 50mins away from us and Christmas is around the corner! They wouldn’t do a refund and they gave us someone else’s receipt not that it would have mattered since they won’t refund. We are going to have a sad Charlie Brown Christmas tree this year and I’m never using that farm again! I’m from Seattle and I have got real trees a lot! Cutting down and precut and have never experienced this before so it’s pretty...
