I was at friend's house and had to go somewhere quickly to buy diapers and milk for my baby. Peery' Market was the closest place from where I was. So close that I didn't think about putting my shoes on. I regretted it soooo much. The owner started yelling on me, because I didn't have shoes on. I didn't understand clearly why he was so mad at the first time. I said sorry and I was trying to picked up what I needed faster as I could, considering I didn't know where things were at this store, so he came and started yelling at me again soooo loud, asking me to leave, like he was putting an animal out of the store. So finally I had a chance to say, I'm from another country, I didn't understand why he was so mad and yelling at me because I didn't have shoes on. He said" this is a law in USA. " Ok! Now I Know, and I'll respect that. But I'll never forget how miserable I felt. I apologized again, I paid and left. He should learn how to treat better a client. Filthy store, and the store owner refused to take my check, saying he'd never seen me in there before, when I had been in there around once a month for the last 25 years! And there are no signs posted anywhere that they will not take checks, or they will only take checks if the owner knows you, etc. They also allow cigarette smoking inside the store, so forget about purchasing things like sugar or flour, as they will smell and taste like an ashtray. The floors haven't been professionally cleaned and waxed in at least 20 years, all the meat is old and expensive, just horrible little dump in every way, I only went there because it was the only place in town. We simply love it. Peery’s is a full-service grocery store, so if you need bread milk and eggs, your good. Need a well-trimmed steak and fixings, your good. Need a can of sauerkraut, your good. Easily our favorite store and we will continue to support them and their staff.

Now, to those who have left negative reviews (I read them all) and have seen you in action. Not a pleasant experience. The real problem is your over stimulated sense of self-importance.
