My husband and I have come every year with our daughter since her birth and each year we grow more and more tired of the conditions. We have continued out of tradition; however, we will start looking around for a different farm next year. Circle S stays open due to its history as an outstanding business and people like us who go out of tradition. We have sadly watched as prices increased to crazy amounts per person all while quality has decreased...for example, in the 90's when I started going, everyone received with entry a free pumpkin, real apple cider, and a real pumpkin donut. Now you must pay extra for everything if coming on the weekends and those wonderful "fresh" harvest favorites have been replaced with cold cake donuts and generic apple juice. Not exactly a down on the farm experience...more like going to Kroger. Also, you must pay for your pumpkin in addition to admission these days. The pumpkin patch is TERRIBLE year after year. This is an observation made over 7 years, so please don't blame summer weather, which has varied over the years. I'm not so sure that food is kept at safe temperatures either and there are bugs all over the baked goods. Yes, as others have warned there are swarms of bees EVERYWHERE!!! They are aggressive if you have food and make your experience trying to eat HELL. Emptying trash cans regularly and properly storing food may help; although, I hear there are bee hives near by.,. It was sad for me to write this review as I love Circle S, but the public should be warned that they are not what they used to be. As a side note, some highlights are great pumpkin donuts that can be purchased (if they haven't run out early in the day) at an additional cost. They really are amazing. My daughter LOVES the hay maze and playing in the barn. The staff we have interacted with have been very friendly, you are provided with lots of time to look in the patch for that perfect pumpkin (good thing because you are going to be hunting for a while) and it is just a short drive from the city, which is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI missed getting to go lastyear as every year i go to circle s as a fun family thing to do. I was quite disappointed this year. I know these yellow jackets are bad everywhere, and their is a difference between bees and yellowjackets, but when i say they are insaine at circle s, i mean it. To the point it was unenjoyable. Yellow jackets like to chase you, which they certainly did. No, im not criticizing them for qcts of nature, more the prevention and upkeep. Even parts of dawn dishsoap and water sprayed around and inside the rim of the trash bags and outside of them, and it sprayed throughout around the straw couches, and such woukd do wonders with eliminating many of them. That concoction kills them and makes their wings stick together where they cant fly. DawnDishsoap is non toxic and safe for agriculture, along with Demetrius earth. Besides that, the other thing that was a huge disappointment which is why we go is getting to choose our pumpkin out if the patch, we got to choose from a pile of pumpkins, but if thats the case we could of choose one from the store. Walking through taking our time, enjoying the memory is why we loved circle s.we have many many memories their. Unfortunately, with how this year was, we will pray about future visits. The corn maze was an escape from the wasps, and fun as usual, but certainly different from previous visits. Please bring back the wholesomeness for families. And i pray that value doesnt get lost with the newer generation, circle s has been amazing for years and has alot of life still there, i just hope picking the pumpkins and not being rushed (and by rushed i mean off the wagon, and back on the wagon in about 3 minutes after choosing a pumpkin from the pile!) That over everything(even me being an epileptic fighting off wasp with 2 kiddos) was what was most disappointing. Cookies and apple fritters were very dry. Previous years werent like this year. Im rooting for you circle s, our city needs that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis really could have been a 5 out of 5 star review but i couldn't give that good of a review after my experience. First, when walking in the person at the front didn't explain anything to us so we had no clue there was a donut and small apple juice you got included in the expensive ticket. I say expensive because it was very pricey for simply visiting a pumpkin patch farm. It was 11 dollars per person (certain aged kids got in free of course) then that doesn't include the pumpkin which you pay 5 dollars each. Then all you got was 1 donut and 1 apple juice. Like, what?! For 32 dollars! The juice wasnt even cold! Was warm and no it wasnt cold out! It would have been better if the pumpkin was included in the ridiculous admission price. The waiting area was very nice and fun to take pictures around and play with the basketball game they have. The staff was quite rude except for the tractor driver, he was amazing and sweet. The girl that was attending the donuts ignored my partner when asking for our donut and juice after saying hey 3 times to her cause her phone was more important. The older lady at the entrance didn't explain how anything worked or where to go for the tractor or that the juice and donut were even available. The ticket said it but we didn't see that till much later cause we thought it was to be handed to the tractor but saying something in the first place would have been helpful since it was our first time (and she didnt even say to look at the ticket). It was an OK experience that could have been an amazing experience. For their prices there should be way more...
