Day 2 here in Manistee and got the chance to play Chestnut Hills Golf Course and couldn’t have asked for a better round! #fyp #golf #bogeygolf #michigan #michigangolf

Definitely a course worth a try. Greens were in amazing shape and fast. Very challenging. Fairways weren’t in immaculate shape but I’ve played much worse and they were manageable. Getting to tee boxes on some holes was a bit confusing but still a solid track off the beaten paths a bit. Would recommend to play. The staff were very friendly and pleasant.

It would be very easy to drive right by this course and assume it’s a pitch and putt. It is not. The front nine is a pretty standard up north nine, but even more rustic (which I like). The back nine is phenomenal and so much fun. In the summer, at times, the greens can be almost absurdly fast which is awesome if you’ve never experienced it. Most courses in this price range have soft, slow greens (which I hate). Probably the main reason we play this course almost exclusively when we are at the cottage is the owner. He’s just an...

I've played 15 rounds this year on six different courses (including The Bear) and Chestnut Hills has been by far the most memorable. Loved the layout of both nines. Nearly all the holes have their own "character". Good shots are rewarded tee to green (I'm a 19 handicapper) and you'll survive an occasional error. The greens were in great condition and, as some other reviewers note, they're challenging but playable. My buddy and I were first timers and we will definitely be back with...

Hidden Gem. Played 18 holes after our morning round at Arcadia Bluffs. Owner is very friendly and down to earth. Our group kept saying how simple yet challenging this course was, we were in shock. Great layout, greens were fast and true, back 9 was very impressive. I highly recommend this course for some fun after getting beat up at The Bluffs. Only cons are the dirt cart paths, which is expected at a $45 course. You’ll be eating some dust if you follow too closely to another cart....
