Beautiful setting, incredibly poor experience.
We brought a group of 20 to The Highlands for a guys’ weekend—$20,000+ spent on lodging and golf over two days, expecting a seamless golf trip. Instead, we were met with disorganization and dismissive staff.
We had 36 holes planned for Saturday: Arthur Hills in the morning, Heather in the afternoon. Rain in the morning delayed our round by two hours, and Arthur Hills staff assured us tee times at all courses would be adjusted. When we called Heather mid-round to confirm, they curtly told us they were “back on schedule” and wouldn’t honor the delay—leaving our group with no second round. No flexibility, no attempt to help, just complete indifference.
The only option we were given was to replay Arthur Hills at 6 p.m., which we reluctantly did—but couldn’t even finish 36. When we asked about any form of refund or credit, we were told “you had unlimited golf,” as if we could magically play 36 holes between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. with a weather delay and full resort tee sheet.
Customer service was cold, inflexible, and uninterested in making things right. Between the bad communication and lack of accountability, it was clear they didn’t care about us once they had our money.
Skip this place. Spend your money somewhere like Treetops or Garland, where they actually value your...
Read moreWe went there Friday, Oct 8th, 2021 for a family birthday and we had 2 tee times. The greens were punched and sanded to the point they were unplayable. No signs, posted, never told us that when we made the reservations, starter never even mentioned it on the 1st tee box. All of us felt we were taken advantage of, since some of the other courses, which were open, had not been punched yet, and we could have played anywhere. Went in after the miserable round was over, to ask for at least a rain check, or anything accommodating, and we were given the cold shoulder. Pro shop said we were given the fall discount of $78/each. I told him, we wouldn't have played there at all for free if we knew it was that bad. Its too bad, because I had thought Boyne had stepped up its level of service since the remodel, but we all feel they were looking for the last $ before they closed for the season. We didn't expect that kind...
Read moreGO PLAY THIS COURSE!! This was our final round of 18 for our weekend in Boyne and it was the best of the bunch. Think we paid right around $150 and it was worth every penny. Phenomenal conditions, firm and fast greens, fantastic variety of hole designs, and significant elevation change in a few spots (especially on signature #13) along with challenging placements to accommodate low handicappers and some forgiving tee boxes to pacify the high handicappers.
Nice pro shop and friendly staff for Ross and Arthur. Food is pricey but you expect it. Lots of nice logo gear to choose from as well if you need a keepsake.
Cannot say enough good things about this golf course(s). Donald Ross and Arthur Hills are THE BEST two courses Boyne has imho and I’ve now played them all. 10/10 would recommend and we will...
