Rip off!! They will charge you for more weight than they give you. For a couple of weeks we have been thinking that we were paying for more weight than we have been getting. Today when we went in and purchased a full filet we were told that it was 7.5 lbs (weighed in the back and not out front where we were). When we left we both thought that it was in no way that big. We took it to the local supermarket meat department and asked them to weight it which they were nice enough to do. It weighed 5.87 lbs. We went back to Haring's and asked them to weight again and their scale read 6.0 lbs. We were told by Haring Brothers that we paid for the total weight before they trimmed the fat.I told them there was no way they trimmed 1.5 lbs off of a filet. Not to mention every other time they would bring out the trimmed whole filet, weigh it, and charge me based on the weight of the trimmed filet. Seems like today they just said we had to pay for the weight with the fat on because they were caught in a lie. They then brought out a another filet with the fat on and weighed it out front. It was 7.01 lbs untrimmed and 6.5 trimmed. Then they said that it would be $214 (27.99 x 7.646=$214) instead of the $210 I originally paid. which is funny since it should have been less since the untrimmed weight per them was 0.5 less than the original. We took it and left even though we were once again being overcharged. Of course they did not realize that I saw them weigh it before they trimmed it. They have all sorts of products stacked in front of the scales. Which is not suppose to happen. my wife's parents use to own a store years ago. So the customer cannot see the weight. Last week when we there the man put it on and off the scale so quick I could not even see the weight. When we got home we weighed on a home scale and it was not the weight we were charged. I should have realized they had poor business practices when I first start going there and asking for $200 in filet and they charged me the individual filet price, which is $7 more per pound than purchasing the whole filet which would be around $200 also instead of telling us a whole filet would get more for the money. A good business would have advised you of that. valuing their customers who come in every week. We spend $800 to $900 there a month and they have absolutely lost a loyal customer. one week the guy overcharged us 100 and we left came back in and as soon as we hit the store no one else was in there he was like I think i owe you 100. refund. I know for a few weeks on and off they ripped me off. this time I was determine to double check not on a home scale but with a certified store scale and they got caught. shame on them for not valuing their customers. One week i heard another guy complaining start checking your...
Read moreWe don't have a lot of businesses right our neighborhood since we moved to Bedminster TWP, but this is hands down one of the best butchers anywhere in the Tri-State area. It's been a huge help to have this high quality butcher close to our home during the pandemic, and it has always been a well known high quality butcher even before the pandemic. We are getting a smaller Turkey and Ham for Thanksgiving set aside for pick up, freeing up fridge/freezer space. They carry other local dairy products, and cuts of meat that you can have them cut and package the way YOU NEED IT. We may even try our hand at Rack of Lamb for Christmas this year. Al I can say is pre-order, the line outside the shop is long right before the holidays. Save some time, call in your order and pick it up. People were driving in from NJ last spring, so its not a secret, and has long been well known and worth the drive for many that need a knowledgeable, well trained, and customer focused...
