My family and I stopped by this shop on our way home from vacation to grab some treats. Our family dog was with us and remained outside, barking twice—nothing excessive or aggressive. As we entered the shop, we were shocked to overhear the staff gossiping to other customers about the “out of hand dog outside” and claiming he was “barking and trying to attack her customers,” which was completely untrue. In fact, the very customers they were referencing had just walked past us, laughed, and even spoke kindly to our dog.
Despite the uncomfortable experience, we still went ahead with our purchase, only to be met with cold, unprofessional attitudes. Had anyone politely expressed a concern, we would’ve gladly kept the dog in the car—but instead, we were treated with judgment and rudeness.
It’s disappointing to be made to feel so unwelcome, especially at what appears to be a small, locally-owned business. Unfortunately, we won’t...
Read moreAlways a pleasure to come here, I make special trips because I love their boiled peanuts. They have added ice cream which was AMAZING. All of their products taste fresh and hands down the best. Accidentally picked up white chocolate pecans instead of peanuts for my son and he got through half the container until he realized they were pecans. Now he has added that to his list of treats to pick up when we go. Staff was super friendly and helpful they were younger, polite, jovial and seemed to like working in the shop. The staff is always friendly but it was exciting to see the next generation being just as friendly. I recommend to everyone i know even if they dont like peanuts because they have lots of odds and ins like hotsauce, BBQ sauce, muscadine wine, and also gift trinkets. Its an experience you gotta see, its not a huge store but once you're in, your eyes will not stop...
Read moreWe stopped into this roadside legend for some boiled peanuts. Of course we didn’t know its reputation at the time. The helpful staff gave me a taste of their delicious peanut butter, and that’s all it took. I had to get a jar of that too. Then my wife saw the various flavors of apple butter, and we had to add a jar to our order. We resisted the ice cream, but it sure looked good. They also had a variety of different kinds of jellies and preserves, so you can certainly find a flavor that excites your palate. Take a break on your trip to and from the Outer Banks for a pleasant visit...
