My son said his 7th birthday party was "epic!" He and his friends had a great time playing video games.
We decided on the Video Game Van versus the trailer because we wanted them parked in the driveway for safety reasons. The trailer on the website clearly states it doesn't park in driveways. We actually liked the van better because the van has an awning outside with additional TV's and games the kids/adults could play. We had 20 kids at the party and inside the van could fit 10-12 plus an additional 12 kids outside.
Our host was great and kept the kids entertained. Tipping is optional, we did tip him because he was professional, kind, knowledgeable, and interacted with the kids great and felt he deserved it. Plus he was willing and able to back the van into our driveway so that it was positioned away from the Lake which can be breezy. It's March and still chilly, but we didn't want the Lake breeze making it colder while kids were using the outside TV's for gaming. The Van inside was heated which was great too. We also were happy he showed up 30 minutes early to get setup and ready to go so the kids could maximize their gaming time.
I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the Game Van was pricey enough for 90 minutes, but then they tack on a "travel fee" which put us over our budget. Our travel fee was $120! Apparently it's based on mileage etc. We were already committed to the idea of the Gaming Van and told our son about it, so we sucked it up and paid the high price. We thought about "not tipping" to offset the price and travel charge, but then decided it's not the party hosts fault for pricing and didn't want to punish him because he was great with the kids. While, we really enjoyed ourselves, I would only recommend this company if your house or party location is close to their home base in Putnam CT because it can quickly become unaffordable for most working families even though they...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of enjoying Rolling Video Games of New England at a recent race event at Lime Rock Park, and they were absolutely fantastic. Dom, in particular, was incredibly helpful—friendly, professional, and made sure everything ran smoothly.
The gaming setup under their tent was top-notch, with a wide variety of video games that kept my boys fully engaged. They were so excited that they went back multiple times throughout the event! It was a huge hit and a great way for kids to stay entertained while the races were going on.
Highly recommend Rolling Video Games of New England for any event—fun, well-organized, and...
Read moreLaser tag was done pretty well overall. I paid for extra guns and didn't end up using one of them and was NOT refunded (1 child no showed). It was very hot out so I had to be heavily involved in making sure the children had enough breaks and drinks, as this didn't seem a priority. Also, regular bandanas worked just fine for the head cover; although, they made me worried that they weren't going to work. Our game coach was good with the kids. I've done the game truck as well and I would choose that over laser tag if I did it again.....a much better investment...
