Harps Food Stores — Local services in Pocahontas

Store was clean and food looks fresh. They could be more clear about signs on their sale items.I picked up 3 of their 12 pkg of sprite thinking they were on sale but it was actually the bottles on sale. I asked at the checkout if they were the ones on sale and the check out lady rung them up at full price but did not tell me so I assumed I had the right ones. I also purchased a 6 roll pkg. Of Scott paper towels that were according to the signs on the shelf were on sale for $5.48 . After checking out the other checker helped to load my groceries and I asked the girl if I had everything in my cart and she assured me that I did. I Stopped to look at my ticket before leaving and noticed the price on the sprites was full price so went back to the desk and had the girl go check and she does and told me it was the bottles on sale. I said ok but the sign was not clear. Then the checker catches me with my 2 bags of fritoes that if I had not been checking on the sodas would have been left. When I get home I noticed the extra charge on the paper towels for over $8.00. I called the store and finally got someone to go look and he said they were $5.48. I told him I was not coming back today and my gas would cost more to make the extra trip. I will take my sales slip back on the next trip back. I guess things happen but wonder what could have been done differently to make my experience better. Most people never check but if you do and thought you were getting a sale or bargain and you were not it is...

I have read many comments about price, not as big of a store and checkers are friendly & polite.. The chances that you are lucky enough to have a clean store and shelves that are stocked is worth every penny you pay. You are paying for the goods and service & conveniences they offer, you go to WalMart yea it’s probably cheaper, but half of the time you can not find stock on the shelves, you don’t get greeted and usually can’t even find a checker to check you out, much less a friendly person.. I will always support Local stores, they care about how you feel & if you are happy and if you will be back. NO WALMART cares about repeat customers and service. When you support local, you are supporting a family from the area who is trying to support their child’s dreams and send them to extracurricular activities. Where you spend your money really does matter to those kiddos that your kiddos or grandkids go through life with and helping each other helps...

They almost always have excellent customer service. They are very clean in a very convenient location, but their prices also slightly reflect that convenience in that you will pay a little bit more for most things than you would somewhere else. They are especially great for if you are needing to run to town real quick for a few little things or if you are needing to stop during your commute for gas, cigarettes, a quick snack, or something to drink. They also have a very fresh meat department and probably the most varieties of ice cream of anywhere in town. The fact that they close at 10 is often inconvenient for me, but I am thankful they...
