I am 54 years old and never golfed really in my life till the beginning of this spring with my Son and his Girl Friend, my Son is good but his Girl Friend is really good because her father trained her from a little girl. But enough about that I really was worried about how the atmosphere would be with a middle aged plus man out hitting golf balls in all the wrong places and not only the staff being upset with me but also other golfers. To my surprise after this evening now being about my 10th time golfing in my life the staff at Highland Golf Course have been great and all the other golfers out enjoying the game have been more than patient while am trying to learn all the skills needed to be good at this sport. It is such a calming and great place to enjoy an afternoon i would ask anyone that has not golded in there life to try this course and don't be afraid to ask the staff any questions and I really hope you have all the same experiences with the other golfers and many of them are really good but have been really friendly. GREAT PLACE TO LEARN A NEW SPORT AND GREAT...
Read moreI've golfed for 4 years and never had a bad experience with a golf marshall until this place. The guys behind us were complaining we were slow (we had a group in front of us). Then he went off about all the rules we were breaking and how slow we were playing (there was a group in front of us). After talking him down a bit, it turns out the only rule we were breaking was sharing clubs. He made us get off the course. Watch out for the lone ranger if you play here. He's fulfilling his childhood fantasies of being a mysterious cowboy who stares at you when you're...
Read moreA "muni" course in the guise of a country club. Good clean looking course located next to a high school that shares the same name. The golf appeal is high. Nice clubhouse. Confident staff. Good shape. Challenging test. Last few holes of the front & most of back are above average.
Things to look out for. The Idaho Foursome. What looks like a foursome is actually a 6, 7, 8-some. Senior citizens do it. Families do it. Slow days is understandable. It's never slow though. Not sure if it's the lack of areas to practice at this course but there are unfixed Ball Marks every where. Even on the practice putting greens. People walking their dogs on the course...
