I taught at MCTI for 11 years as a career facilitator. I am also alumni from 1980. This is by far one of the best schools in Monroe County and the region. It's important to remember that the 1/2 day high school component is FREE, but the night school continuing education is NOT, it is a smaller program with some super courses to take for credit, and non-credit at night towards professional and personal development. Most popular are computer technology, healthcare, automotive/diesel technology and of course its outstanding welding program under Mr. Greg Smith (another alumni) This school is for anyone who wants to learn a trade and gain valuable hands-on experience with seasoned professionals geared at preparing people for professional certification or for practical purposes. MCTI is a GEM in the Poconos and a great place for HS students to explore high priority and high demand career paths while also meeting and learning with students from the other 8 high schools in the county. Occupational Advisory Committees monitor and enrich the programs keeping them up to date and prepared to meet the needs of the workforce. Great support staff, instructors, shop areas and a simply beautiful campus!!! I highly recommend MCTI, especially if you want to be more than just an academic person, but one ready to meet the needs of the workforce and higher paying trade areas. I LOVE that you can earn industry certifications and credits towards college before or upon graduation! Who doesn't see the sense in graduating with 2 diplomas from High School? Great School!! I graduated in 2014. I went to this school halfway through my day at Pocono Mountain East High School in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade for Building Trades Maintenance. It taught me masonry, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical. It was an amazing experience. I learned so much here and left me with the confidence to get a job in construction.
