Course is good but there is a new young male employee that becomes very sarcastic and condescending to you if you question his judgment or knowledge. He was asked to allow our twosome to start on the 10th hole due to slow teams on the first hole and a clear back 9. There are no tee times at this course. of the group was a member and in the past all requests like this had been approved without hesitation by all other employees. When asked why he stated that it was easier for him. I began to ask why and before I could finish he rudely stated to "just start on the front, you won't be waiting " the next group behind us went straight to the 10th tee and was not stopped. When we asked why the difference he sarcastically replied that they were staying in the condo and if you give me $200 I'll let you start on the back. We waited on every hole and took 2.5 hours for a twosome on the front. At the turn we informed him of the issue of waiting. He then made a sarcastic remark "now you can start on the back ". No apology for misjudging the pace of play. We once again asked why we were denied and he stated that that's the way the course was designed and to just go play the rest of the round. All other employees have been great. I play every week with a member friend and had always enjoyed. As long as this arrogant young man is employed there I will not return. My member friend has also stopped and will not renew for next year. Plenty of other...
Read moreTerrible experience here. Employees were extremely rude. I have never been spoken to the way that they spoke to me and my family. We had a couple who was new to golf with us and we were “taking too f*ing long”. The employee actually screamed at us. In reality, we were showing golf etiquette and being polite to others by letting them go ahead and waiting for others to finish the hole before we began-but I guess he was too ignorant to realize that. There’s nothing anyone can do when you’re waiting for people ahead of you. Everyone has to wait, that’s just a busy day on the course.
Will NEVER go back, and will tell everyone I know who golfs to avoid this awful place. It ruined our whole experience. We felt rushed and out of place the rest of the day. Most of us didn’t even feel comfortable shooting more than 2 or 4 shots and would just pick up the ball. That’s not okay when you’re learning.
If you’re new, or not a pro who can hit in from the drive on to the green, this place is NOT for you. Go someone more accommodating. Summit Springs in Poland is down the road and VERY friendly...
Read moreI have played at Fairlawn since I was 13 and have always enjoyed the course, members and management team. Since the new ownership took over a couple of years ago, I have seen nothing but a complete desire to improve upon all facets of members’ as well as guests’ golfing and dining experiences. From a refurbished pro shop with more golfing equipment and apparel, pub with a whole new menu and newly installed simulators for a year round experience.
I highly recommend Fairlawn to anyone looking to play at a course that will challenge all of your golfing skills yet be forgiving enough so you can enjoy your round and keep you wanting to come back. Afterwards, enjoy a bright and relaxing atmosphere along with fine dining at the pub while the friendly Fairlawn team goes out of they way to meet all of your needs.
Give it a shot! I promise you’ll fall in love with...
