Smale Farm Store — Local services in Polk Township

This is a fabulous family owned Farm Store. They sell the best hay in the area!! The last few Hays seasons in my experience(with horses) it's been difficult to find good or even decent hay. I have found that Smale's Farm has the only hay that is bright in color, strong in smell, as well as the bales are heavy. All excellent indications that the hay is nutritious. It's also the only hay my horses will touch.

Additionally, the Smale's Farm family always goes out of their way to make sure all my needs are met! There's an old-school goodness you'll find when interacting with them that's been lost in our world. They are an knowledgeable group of kind individuals. This place is definitely worth checking out whether you need a bale of alfalfa hay, a bag of lime for your garden, maybe some "good" pine shavings @an excellent price or perhaps some just some Spring or Fall 🌺 flowers . Friendly, down home country atmosphere. Many of their products are produced right there on the farm, which are not readily available at regular big box stores, such as hay & straw, and animal feed like corn, oats and wheat. Prices seemed a little high to me, but, then again, what places have you shopped lately where you don't experience sticker shock? The owners are honest, genuine, hard working farmers who care about their patrons & their patron's livestock & pets. When the lady was helping me load my purchase into my vehicle, she saw Bella, my American pitbull, in the car. Fantastic Farm Store. They have everything you need for your wild birds, live stock, and pets. A friend sent me there and I thank her for the recommendation. No one looks forward to spending money but I look forward to my visits to Smales. Their prices are extremely fair and I'd rather purchase from a local business than large chain stores. Your always greeted by happy friendly people and happy friendly pets. Abner and Ruby (friendly pets) are a joy to visit with. The owners are great, family run with a smile.
