Bourque's Superstore — Local services in Port Barre

THIS place is one of my favorite grocery stores! They are known for their Jalapeno Cheese Sausage Bread, but they also have an excellent meat selection. Excellent variety of sausages (everything from chicken, turkey to gator), some of THE BEST ground chicken patties, and excellent smoked meat section. There's always smoked turkey necks, but you can also find smoked turkey legs, hen & rooster. The BBQ burgers (Saturdays) from the hot foods section of the store are also good. I'm also a fan of their seasonings (regular & no salt), which are good by themselves, but is great if you pair them with the Magic Swamp Dust seasoning, especially on roasted vegetables. 😋😋😋

Before I say this I have to say that their employees are done of the most friendless, and nicest, respectful and polite ladies that I have ever met! But personally I think that ourques takes advantage of port barres POOR citizens, buy DOUBLING their prices, and u can go check they are definitely double!! Whoever owns it, is getting rich off of the poor, all because most of them don't even have a vehicle to go to Walmart in Opelousas, where it is WAY!! WAYY!!! Cheaper... 50% cheaper to be exact!! BOURQUES SHOULD HAVE LOWERED THEIR PRICES WAY WAYY LOWER FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, TO HELP THEIR COMMUNITY & it's CITIZENS!! BUT INSTEAD DECIDED TO PROFIT OFF OF THE LITTLE BIT THAT THE PEOPLE IN THIS TOWN ALREADY...

This is not a review about the restaurant but rater there on-line ordering I'll start with I contacted them wanting 4 lbs of andouille , 3 lbs of Tasso and 3 lbs of Boudin I was told I had to order at least 16 lbs , so I changed the order to 6 lbs of boudin 3 lbs of tasso and the rest sausage ...........that should have been 7 lbs of sausage , I was told that's good and did I want turkey sausage ..............I told them no way i wanted pork . Here's what I got 6 lbs boudin , and I'll tell you it's very good , 3 lbs of Turkey Tasso , and 4 lbs of sausage I e-mailed them at least 6/7 times with no re-ply .........so beware don't order on-line they will rip you off then not...
