Im writing this review to let people know how my experience was currently during Covid. We went on sunday aug 23. It was not very busy at the beach. People were keeping their distance. Since we stayed at The Pearl we were able to get access to the umbrellas and chairs very easily. It costs $35 dollars to rent the equipment. Take a mask to the beach in case it gets crowded; if you are indoors masks are a requirement. At the hotel people were also keeping their distance and it made me feel secure that everyone was wearing their masks inside. We managed to miss most of the spring break madness and find ourselves a relaxing couple of days at the beach.
The water was bracing, but in the afternoon heat was also refreshing.
While I don't have any interest in traveling all the way down here to eat at a sports bar, that is a popular pastime and the sports bars seemed of good quality.

The Beach access is awesome, sand is great, water was good. Conditions vary, we went late June & the sun was hot, water was warm. Bring tent, chair, and cooler with ice water.
