Simone is the best! I'm pretty convinced she could figure out how to sew anything. She has a fine eye for design, knows fabric, and has uses her expertise and skill with upholstery and window coverings to produce beautiful work. I recently washed several cushion covers and bench pads she made 12 years ago that have held up terrifically. Each time I get a close look at her work, I marvel at the functionality and careful detail - like the piping and snaps and zippers on the pinstriped slipcover, she recently made for us. Simone can magically hide a zipper! You might have to get on her waiting list, but you will be so glad you did - we are lucky to have such talent in this part of the world. I recently had an antique chair restored (the chair rebuilt and the cushion redone/reupholstered) at Custom Sewing & Upholstery and they did an amazing job! Simone is very kind and knowledgeable about antique furniture and suggested different options that would honor the time period the chair was from. The upholstery was beautifully and neatly done. I love that they appreciated the patina of the chair that shows its history. They didn't try to make it look brand new - they respected the life and memories the piece has had, which is exactly what I wanted.

Simone made a slip cover for a very long window seat in my living room and the entire experience was a delight from start to finish! Now a couple months later, I am filled with gratitude every time I look at it! I found a beautiful fabric with the William Morris strawberry theif pattern which Simone sewed so perfectly, all the birds lined up, chirping happily the length of the window seat.
