Here is a list of reasons why you should not buy from Seat and Sleep
-Poor Quality: I have had 3 of the same model couches in 3.5 years -Continues to sell/replace defective product: the replacement couch had the same issues as a previous couch -Poor Time Management and Communication: Several occasions they came outside of the designated time frame without communication -I question their customer services practices: as they have been unwilling to right this situation

I have gone through 3 of the same couches in the past three and a half years. My last couch from Big Lots was $300 and lasted me the same time frame, so how is it that I have paid $1000 for one couch that has needed to be replaced twice in the past three and a half years. Not to mention the time I have taken out of my day and family members' day to ensure someone is available in the designated time frame that a seat in sleep representative will be there only for the seat and sleep representative to arrive late without contact on several occasions.
The first couch: It did not even last a full year. The decorative seam ripped the stuffing came out from under the recliner, which I was told was a common problem with this couch. A few months later the motor stopped reclining the couch. I was issued a new couch.
The second couch: When it was delivered the delivery men tested it out and as they did that it made a noise, which I was told it was just the wood rubbing together because it needed to be worn in. A little while later the entire arm of the couch fell off.
The third couch: I was upset after the events above, but the manager assured me he inspected this couch personally. This is the couch that lasted the longest, but after having it a few months over a year. I started noticing problems that only progressed. It started with randomly finding a nail from the couch, then the stuffing coming out (a known problem that they chose to ignore), and then my couch seat separating from the other side. When I called about this, they sent a repair man as this was past the warranty. The repair man came over and one of the bars under my couch was bent which he fixed. He then assured me that he would get an order in to fix the stuffing in my couch, It’s been two months and no contact. I can't use the recliner due to the stuffing falling out and the seat has separated again. The couch is now in even worse condition now, If you were to lay on it you would most likely end up with back problems as the bars stick in your side due to the separation. My friends have even commented on the poor quality and decline in this piece of furniture in the past year and a half.
Couches should not start to feel uncomfortable in less than two years. This is absolutely an unacceptable quality of couch that has been chosen to be ignored. This is a business that does Freebee Friday contests and advertises about their great sales to get customers in the door, but does not care enough about their customers to discontinue poor quality products they are selling. A company with integrity would recognize the poor quality of product they provided their customer with and do what they could to make up for this. However this has not been the case in my experience and I am highly...
Read moreI don’t usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share our awful experience with this store. We bought a couch that was advertised as being “Sophie’s favorite.” Naturally, we assumed Sophie was an employee – not a dog. Only after we got the couch home did we realize it had clearly belonged to a dog for five years(according to what the salesman told us over the phone after our purchase). I don’t understand why the owner would ever bring his dog into a furniture store and let her lay on the furniture in the first place but that’s beside the point. Due to the owner allowing this it should be fully disclosed to every customer. It was covered in hair, stained, and had a strong pet odor. I love dogs – but I don’t want to pay hundreds of dollars for what turned out to be a glorified dog bed.
While we understood it was a floor model, we were never told the couch was a long-term nap spot for a dog. That would have been a dealbreaker from the start. Instead, we spent time, effort, and money to bring this couch home, only to be completely grossed out.
When we reached out to the store, their initial reaction was hesitant at best. Eventually, they offered us $200 toward cleaning (which doesn’t even cover the cost) or the option to return it. I told them both options were unreasonable. We’d already gone through the trouble of transporting it ourselves, and their lack of transparency caused the entire issue. I also voiced my concern that if we returned it, they might just turn around and sell it again without fully disclosing its history – just like they did with us. Ultimately, we were so fed up that we wasted more time returning it. We liked the couch’s look and style, but the way this situation was handled was absolutely unacceptable. Poor communication, no real accountability, and solutions that made us bear the cost of their mistake
I will never shop here again – and I recommend you think twice before you do, unless you’re in the market for secondhand pet furniture...
Read moreSo.. let me start by saying I bought a bed there 7 yrs ago. Loved that bed but it was time to get a new one. Had purchased a couple living room pieces in-between then and now that were subpar but chalked it up to being inexpensive. So time to buy a new bed. Found a bed that was close to the one had purchased before and got it delivered. That first night, the bed was hard as a rock. Nothing close to the comfort level of the bed in the showroom. Called seat n sleep, was told we needed to give it at least 2 weeks to break the bed in. Have owned many beds in my day and never had to break it in. Anyway, we gave it a month. Still hard as a rock. Exchanged it for a new bed. Loved the bed in the showroom. Got it home, hard as a rock. We called to discuss the second bed and was told the owner said there is nothing they can do. I could understand this happening with one bed, manufacturer defect and what not, but 2 beds in a row not being as comfortable at home as they are in the showroom. We now just take this as a 1600 dollar lesson to only buy from stores that offer a money back return policy, because seat and sleep does not offer money back. We were told by the sales person when we wanted to exchange that drop-off of the new bed and pickup the old bed would be free. Then when it came to making the transaction, they wanted to charge us $100 to make that happen. When we brought this fact to their attention, we were just told the sales person was wrong. So we had to pick up and drop off on our own. So long story short. The sales staff is not knowledgeable of policy and products. The merchandise is almost a bait and switch situation. Comfortable in the showroom but not the actual product we received. I'm not saying this kinda thing happens to everyone who shops at seat n sleep, but let's just hope it dosnt happen to you. We, nor our family, or anyone who will listen to my story about our terrible experience will ever shop...
