We stayed in a group site on snowhill. It was well taken care of, and far from other sites. It was super quiet and some interesting trails around to hike. No cell reception, truely off the grid which is super nice when looking for some peace and quiet. My husband came across a black bear who seemed pretty uninterested and ran off thank goodness. We enjoyed visiting the Garlic Festival at Shawnee Ski Mountain and exploring the very large forest area. Ran into the ranger when taking our picture at the sign, but other than that didn't see anyone else. A few cars pass once in a blue moon. We were impressed by how well the sites and the park down the road were all kept up and clean.

With something like 20 miles of roads and trails, The Dixon R Miller Recreation Area is primarily intended for Atvs and Snowmobiles, but makes for an excellent and scenic hike. With dense forest, streams, gentle and steep grades, there is much to reward the novice and more experienced outdoorsman. The fire watch tower and corresponding vista are icing on the cake to what makes for a wonderful day in the woods!

Well the overzealous park rangers here are just as sadistic as cops. The rangers ASSUME and look to cause trouble for people THEY don't like if they are bored, need to "raise revenue" by handing out tickets to meet a quota or if the just feel like harassing someone just because. Cops have gotten out of control in America and the beta-male spineless park rangers here are ABSOLUTE PROOF Americans have ZERO RIGHTS, even on public land. Cops and park rangers are the...

Had a blast of a weekend here primitive camping! Bumped into a park ranger named Jeremiah. He was very friendly and answered a couple of questions for me. I really appreciate the level of professionalism and knowledge that he showed. He even let me know to expect some trucks rolling in the next morning for the start of bow season. I highly recommend visiting and connecting with the staff here at Delaware...
