Delaware State Forest — Local services in Porter Township

We stayed in a group site on snowhill. It was well taken care of, and far from other sites. It was super quiet and some interesting trails around to hike. No cell reception, truely off the grid which is super nice when looking for some peace and quiet. My husband came across a black bear who seemed pretty uninterested and ran off thank goodness. We enjoyed visiting the Garlic Festival at Shawnee Ski Mountain and exploring the very large forest area. Well the overzealous park rangers here are just as sadistic as cops. The rangers ASSUME and look to cause trouble for people THEY don't like if they are bored, need to "raise revenue" by handing out tickets to meet a quota or if the just feel like harassing someone just because. Had a blast of a weekend here primitive camping! Bumped into a park ranger named Jeremiah. He was very friendly and answered a couple of questions for me.
