Dollar General — Local services in Porter Township

Although some people call this a "dollar store", it is not one. But it IS a GENERAL merchandise store with prices very comparable to the larger department store chains, but in smaller-sized building. One can get from one's vehicle to the product that one wishes to purchase, make the purchase, and be back in one's vehicle in less than 3 minutes and NOT have to navigate 2 acres of aisles. A good variety of products at reasonable prices! Helpful, friendly clerks. Departments are laid out in the same pattern or in a "mirror image" pattern from one store to the next so that one can locate products quickly, even if one has never before set foot in a particular store. I will say it’s definitely more stocked than those close to me in Elkhart. However, it’s too crammed and the baby section for instance is lacking compared to others. The self check out is always closed. But hey it’s open and has the things ya need to get by until you go to a big store. Of course I can find little complaints but either way the parking lot is great for gambling if you’re from Indiana and need a place to park and online...

A new store, only been open a couple years. I used to hate dollar stores for the generally low quality, high priced items and poor service.
