We went to the fair this yr. I was flabbergasted. It was so small. Few food service places, aside from the usual lion burger stand and the conservation club, Optimist club, there's very few others compared to any county fair I've been to. The rides are $1 a ticket and to go down a non mechanical slide costs $3.00. Are you kidding me? $3 to go down a slide ? Rest of rides were FOUR tickets that equal FOUR DOLLARS to ride a tilt a whirl! It's sad that what it used to be compared to what we have this year is a huge disappointment. The actual grounds is beautiful, but the Jay Co Fair looks like one that would come to Bryant, or a very small town, not Portland . Still got my great lion burgers tho ! Only thing...

There is stuff everywhere. There is shops everywhere. If you look you will find the strangest things. From all time areas. ( armor from the knights, WW1,WW2, Fleamarket stuff just everywhere ) Tractors every type... Hit & miss engine running everywhere. FYI come before Saturday most of the people pack up Saturday and start leaving at 1 pm. It is definitely must see at least once-in-a-lifetime.

Read moreReally enjoyed it this year 2018 1st ever been to this and it was awesome lots and lots of stuff and really neat stuff and you can go walk the streets and there are more stuff make sure you bring something to ride on or unless you like to walk a whole lot they rent carts you can drive there. If never been you must try it you will enjoy it. They have showers and bathrooms and camping area very well maintained there.
