AVOID ON WEEKENDS/HOLIDAYS this lot has limited parking and gets very crowded, it is NOT the main parking for Billy Goat A trail - go to the Great Falls Tavern VC in the main park a few miles further up MacArthur Blvd (fee area = helps NPS), or plenty of free parking at Carderock off the Clara Barton parkway for Billy Goat C and towpath access, 1.25 mile downstream of Anglers. If parking at Anglers adhere to NO PARKING signage and DO NOT BLOCK THE FIRE LANE road/ramp access to the lower lot and boat launch this is actively used for emergency access by river rescue teams. ** KNOW BEFORE YOU GO - A Trail subject to closure if river level are high - see C&O Canal NPS website for latest conditions and trail closures **

Blow dryer and tampon dispenser. If you like visiting historic pay phones, they got it. Trail side access to C&O canal via third parking lot in back. 1 Handicap parking space in the section.

Park here, cross over Angler's bridge, and turn right to follow along the billy goat trail to see the great views of the falls. It's best to get here early because parking fills up quick. I enjoyed getting to see the falls, but the trail was pretty crowded and felt very "tourist-y".

This is NOT Great Falls Parking. The parking lot for Great Falls is at the end of MacArthur Blvd 2.25 miles north beyond this parking lot. This lot provides parking for the Anglers access to the Potomac River and C&O Canal. It is misnamed in Google Maps. The correct name is...
