Chiefs Diesel — Local services in Potwin

I limped into the Matfield Green Service Plaza on I-35 with smoke coming off of a trailer wheel. Thought it was a brake shoe hanging up.

I found Josh @ Chiefs Diesel on the internet and he was there in an hour.

He checked the brakes and found that they were okay but found that the axle hub nut was loose and the wheels were evidently wobbling and touching the brake shoes.

He also found that the bearings and seals were toast and had welded themselves onto the hub.

The hub was a real bear to get off and I was parked on asphalt so hot that it was gooey but Josh never gave up. The air temperature was about 95 with lots of humidity. It was brutally hot 🥵.

Josh ran down to Wichita and got the parts I needed and was back and got everything put back together and had me going quickly.

It was a very difficult job as my trailer is a car hauler and not the most accessible when doing repairs.

Had an engine lock up on the side of the highway. Without a whole lot of options so glad I came across these guys.
