5/9/2025 - First time ever playing Antelope Hills South and it was a truly fantastic experience. The course was nearly perfect. Wide open but still very fun with plenty of different shots to hit. The greens were so nice I decided to putt 38 times.
The staff were amazing. I was particularly pleased with the diligent attention paid to our group by the ranger regarding our 4 hour pace of play. We were unaware this was not acceptable and so he gently encouraged us to speed it up and then escorted us for two holes, dutifully observing from behind his mirrored sunglasses like Boss Godfrey, to make sure we didnāt misunderstand him or get lost. A lesser ranger would have just stopped by, offered some useless pleasantry, asked if we were having fun or needed anything, or simply smiled and said nothing at all. We felt seen.
Really good players would eat this place alive, but for struggling mid-handicappers like us it was just right. I think weāll try the North course next time, as I hear itās a little more challenging, but it will be tough to drive all the way to Prescott and not play this one again.
Update 8/17/2025 - As promised, I went back and played the North Course and also really enjoyed it. Itās much tighter with a lot more trees. As a result, there are some really fun shots to be hit by better golfers. All four greens I hit were very receptive and the 35 putts rolled pretty true. The only nits to be picked are that some of the fairways had a few bare spots, but really not too bad, and the sand traps were just not sand, at all. They are hard compact dirt. Several were actually full of water from recent rain. If that sort of thing bothers you, then maybe think twice. For those who care about the people, they are great. Especially the woman at the food counter. Unfortunately, I didnāt get her name, but Iām sure sheās famous around there. All said, the North Course was really fun! The bunker thing really surprised me. If they address that then it would be 5...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDrove 2 hours excited to golf with friends, and instead got hit with some of the worst vibes Iāve ever experienced on a course. Carson ā you made it clear this place cares more about flexing authority than actually welcoming golfers.
My buddy was genuinely excited to tag along, not even playing, just riding ā and the attitude we got for that was enough to sour the whole day. Carson, you gave me the first actively negative experience Iāve ever had in Prescott. Prescott Golf Club? Always cool. Always fair. Antelope Hills? Full-on power trip central.
Golf is supposed to be fun, relaxing ā not a place to get talked down to like weāre sneaking into Augusta. Itās a shame, because I used to recommend Prescott for weekend golf trips. Not anymore. Never again.
Let me be blunt ā this was supposed to be a great day of golf with my brother and friends after a 2-hour drive. Instead, it turned into the worst Prescott trip Iāve ever had because of one guy: Carson.
The course? Fine. The guys we got paired with? Super chill ā even they thought the situation was ridiculous. But Carson? Full-blown power trip mode over nothing.
My brother just wanted to ride along, not even play. No crowd behind us, no rush in front of us. I even offered to walk. Still, Carson dug in like he was guarding the Masters. No flexibility, no common sense, just attitude. He had one goal: ruin the vibe. And he nailed it.
The other guys in our group were so put off they bailed after 9 holes. Canāt blame them.
What really sucks is that I used to love Prescott. The people, the atmosphere ā way more grounded than Phoenix or Sedona. But after this? Total sour taste. I never want to come back. And honestly, I doubt they even care.
Iāll take my weekends and money to Sedona or literally anywhere else from now on. If youāre thinking of coming here with friends or family, think twice ā unless you're into getting treated like a problem for wanting to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just called to report an incident that happened at Antelope Hills Golf Course over the weekend where a stray golf ball shattered my window from a player at Hole 1 at tee off. I arrive at about 2:30 pm and I was waiting in my car for some friends to arrive before we played a round. I was not sitting there but 5 minutes and the ball smashed through my rear window. I called to report it this morning (Monday August 31) and the receptionist inquired with āTerryā who apparently did not even take my call because āthere was nothing he could do about itā and that his only suggestion was to contact āBilly Casper Golf Courses ā, however no direct point of contact was referred. According to my research, the golf course could be potentially liable for reimbursement if proper netting is not provided and at hole 1 there is zero netting between the tee and the main parking lot. You can see from the pictures that I was not parked anywhere out of the ordinary and there were numerous other cars in the lot (25+ others). I just canāt believe management didnāt offer anything to rectify the incident, they didnāt offer me advice or even apologize for the inconvenience! You would think they could have even offered a free round of golf or a voucher to their restaurant? Absolutely nothing. Thankfully I got the person who hit the balls phone number and their was also a few witnesses; however, whether he pays is a matter of personal integrity. I guess be very wary parking in their lot and donāt expect any type of customer service or personable assistance if this happens to you- cause I be the first and Iām assuming I wonāt...
